Post : Senior Research Fellow
No. of Post : One
Title of the Project : BNF- Genetic modification to improve biological nitrogen
fixation for augmenting nitrogen needs in cereals.
Funding Agency : Indian Council of Agricultural Research
Duration of the Tenure : For a period of one year or termination of the project,
whichever is earlier
Emoluments Fixed per month (Rs.):
- Rs. 31000/- + HRA (for first two years)
- Rs. 35000/-+HRA (from the third year)
Essential Qualifications : Master’s degree in Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Agriculture Biotechnology/ Biochemistry with 4 years/5 years of Bachelor’s degree. Candidates having 3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree should have NET qualifications and 2 years of Research experience.
Desirable Qualifications : Research experience in rice/ wheat transformation, molecular
analysis of transgenic rice plants, growing rice in hydroponics, artificial media and soil. Development and manipulation of transformation vector. Knowledge of

7. Those candidates who fail to bring the documents mentioned above on the date of Interviews, their candidature is liable to be cancelled.
8. Only candidates having essential qualifications would be considered for the
interviews.
9. Number of post as advertised may increase or decrease depending upon the
requirement of the Institute and various undergoing/running projects having same
essential qualifications.
