Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Senior Research Fellow/Project Associate-II in the DBT Multi-institutional project entitled “Characterization of chickpea germplasm resource to accelerate genomics-assisted crop improvement”, under the mission program of “Characterization of genetic resources”, under the supervision of Dr. Debasis Chattopadhyay, Scientist, NIPGR. The details of the Life Science Research Job are provided below.

Qualification for Life Science Research Job: Candidates having master’s degree in Life Sciences with at least 55% (or equivalent) marks plus two years of post-master’s research experience in industrial or academic or science and technology organization are eligible to apply. Certificate of experience and master’s degree marksheets must be produced with the application. Candidates selected through National Eligibility Test as mentioned in the DST
Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019 and candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated July 10, 2020 are also eligible to apply. The upper age limit for PA-II is 35 years.

Desirable Criteria: Candidates having experience in plant

tissue culture (especially with legume plants) along with cloning, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, RT-PCR are encouraged to apply.

Duration – The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority
