CSIR – IICT is conducting Walk-in-Interview on 09.08.2023 for the following positions under various sponsored projects purely on temporary basis.

Candidates who fulfill the under-mentioned criteria of age, educational qualifications, experience etc., may appear for walk-in-interview with the duly filled application form (download the application form from CSIR-IICT Website) along with one set of attested relevant documents (certificates of all educational qualifications from matric/10th onwards, valid NET/GATE etc, Experience, DOB, latest Category/Caste etc) and appear for walk in interview. Job Post: Project Associate-II

Name of the Project: Regulatory pathways and molecular mechanisms of smartly

engineered Silver Nitroprusside Nanomedicine (SNNM) for Ovarian Cancer Therapy in mouse model.

Upper age limit as on date of walk in interview: 35

Essential Qualification: MSc in Life Sciences with 2 years of research experience 

Desirable Qualification: Experience in nano-biotechnology or animal cell culture

Monthly Remuneration (in Rs.):

  • ₹. 35,000+HRA to Scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility tests- CSIR-UGC-NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and institutions

Name of the Project: Antiviral mission CSIR: Discovery & preclinical development of antivirals for COVID-19 & other diseases

Essential Qualification: MSc / M.Pharm / M.S. Pharm in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology or any other branches of Life Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent.

Desirable Qualification: Research experience in recombinant production of proteins and screening of small molecules to identify inhibitors. Additional experience in mammalian cell culture and determination of cytotoxicity is desired 

Monthly Remuneration (in Rs.):

iii. Candidates with a Master’s degree will be given preference.

Essential Qualification: Engineering graduates in Computer science/Information Science/
Bioinformatics

Desirable Qualification: Post-graduation in Computer Sciences/Bioinformatics, Statistics, Master of Computer Applications or M.Tech in Computer Science with strong knowledge of Data analysis using machining learning and deep learning models. Knowledge of genomic/proteomic or clinical data analysis using Machine Learning or Deep Learning techniques

Monthly Remuneration (in Rs.): ₹. 25,000/- [consolidated] 

  • Upper age limit shall be reckoned as on the date of interview.
  • Experience shall be counted after obtaining the minimum prescribed qualification.
  • Candidates possessing essential qualification in the required area/discipline only should apply, others are not eligible. Result awaited candidates are not eligible.

NOTE : 

  1. The above age limits are relaxable for candidates of statutory groups (SC/ST/OBC) and PWD candidates as per Govt. of India/ CSIR instructions on the subject. 
  2. The candidates who have already served CSIR-IICT or any other lab/institute of CSIR as any Project Assistant / Project Fellow / JRF (in contract R&D projects) / SRF (in contract R&D projects) / Research Associate etc., for a total period of 5 years or more are not eligible for these engagements. The candidates who have served for a period less than 5 years will have tenure up to remaining period till completion of 5 years.
  3. CSIR-IICT reserves the right to cancel or withdraw the award in case of any discrepancy found, in the candidature of any selected candidate at any stage. 
  4. The selection will be on the basis of interview & skill test if applicable will be conducted for suitable posts. 
  5. CSIR-IICT reserves the right not to fill up a particular position, if it so desires. The number of vacancies indicated above may vary at the time of actual selection. 
  6. The period of experience in a discipline / area of work, wherever prescribed, shall be counted after the date of acquiring the minimum prescribed educational qualifications for that position. 
  7. The engagement will be purely on temporary basis initially for a period up to six months which may be extended or curtailed depending on the duration of the sponsored project / satisfactory performance or conduct of the fellow as the case may be and does not entitle him/her for any permanent position in CSIR/IICT. 
  8. No TA/DA will be paid for the interview. 
  9. No interim enquiry or correspondence will be entertained.

Here are some possible interview questions and answers for WALK -IN-INTERVIEW at CSIR–IICT 

  1. Question: Can you explain your research experience relevant to the position of Project Associate-II for the “Regulatory pathways and molecular mechanisms of smartly engineered Silver Nitroprusside Nanomedicine (SNNM) for Ovarian Cancer Therapy in mouse model” project? Answer: I have two years of research experience in Life Sciences, where I have worked on projects involving nano-biotechnology and animal cell culture. I have also conducted studies related to regulatory pathways in my previous research work.
  2. Question: In the project “Antiviral mission CSIR,” you may have to work on identifying inhibitors for COVID-19 and other diseases. Can you share your experience in recombinant production of proteins and screening small molecules to identify inhibitors? Answer: During my academic and research experience, I have gained expertise in recombinant protein production and screening small molecules to identify potential inhibitors. I have also worked on conducting cytotoxicity studies in mammalian cell cultures.
  3. Question: As a Project Associate-I for the “Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients for Affordable Health Care (API-AHC)” project, what relevant experience do you have in life cycle analysis or environmental sustainable assessment? Answer: While pursuing my B.Tech in Biotechnology, I have gained knowledge and experience in conducting life cycle analysis and environmental sustainable assessment. Additionally, I have hands-on experience in handling enzymatic reactions, microbial culture, and protein purification.
  4. Question: For the “Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship” project, you need expertise in metabolic engineering and fermentation. Can you share your experience in these areas? Answer: I have a strong background in Microbiology and expertise in metabolic engineering, strain improvement, and fermentation techniques. I have successfully applied these skills in my academic projects and research work.
  5. Question: The “Design of high rate biomethanation technology based on AGR for the generation of biogas & bio manure from food waste” project requires expertise in data analysis using machine learning and deep learning models. Can you elaborate on your knowledge in this field? Answer: As an Engineering graduate in Computer Science, I have a solid understanding of data analysis using machine learning and deep learning models. I have also pursued post-graduation in Computer Sciences with a focus on genomic/proteomic and clinical data analysis using these techniques. I am confident in applying machine learning models to analyze genomic and proteomic data for this project.
