The focus of research & innovation in diverse disciplines of food science and technology including Food Engineering (Process development and Equipment design, Biochemical Engineering, Downstream Processing and Bioreactor design) etc. is very well supported by excellent infra-structure, state-of-the-art instrumental and pilot plant facilities and advanced research training. CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru offers an excellent research & innovative environment for students who wish to pursue full time Doctoral (Ph.D.) Research Programme in Sciences / Engineering Science under Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research (AcSIR).
CSIR-CFTRI under AcSIR invites applications from eligible Candidates for full-time Doctoral (Ph.D.) Research Programme in Sciences / Engineering Sciences for January 2024 session with the following eligibility requisites:
- Ph.D. Sciences (Biological and Chemical): Regular
Masters degree in Science with minimum 55% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent grade for General (UR)/General-EWS and minimum 50% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent grade for OBC (NCL)/SC/ST, Third gender and Persons with Disability (PwD). The applicant should have a valid Nationallevel Fellowship (JRF/ SRF of any funding agency, e.g. CSIR, UGC, DBT, DST, etc.) or any other equivalent fellowship like DBT-BET, INSPIRE, RGNF, etc. - Ph.D. Sciences (Biological and Chemical): Sponsored
Masters degree in Science with minimum 55% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent grade for General (UR)/General-EWS and minimum 50% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent grade for OBC (NCL)/SC/ST, Third Gender and Persons with Disability (PwD). Endorsement (NOC) from the current employer is mandatory. - Ph.D. Engineering: Regular
Masters degree in Engineering or Technology (after a four year engineering/technology degree or with an integrated 5 year B.Tech./M.Tech. degree or equivalent) with minimum 55% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent grade for General (UR)/General-EWS and minimum 50% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent grade for OBC (NCL)/SC/ST, Third gender and Persons with Disability (PwD). - Ph.D. Engineering: Sponsored

Application fee Rs. 1000 for General/OBC/EWS and Rs. 500 for the SC/ST/PWD candidates
Selection –
- Selection for admission to Ph.D. programmes of AcSIR at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru shall be on the basis of Aptitude tests/Interviews of shortlisted Candidates to be held at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru. Candidates are advised to visit the AcSIR website for dates of interview.
- No TA & DA shall be paid to the shortlisted Candidates for attending the Aptitude tests/ interviews at CSIRCFTRI, Mysuru. Further, they should make their own arrangements for accommodation and food.
