Applications are invited for ONE POSITION of JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (JRF) to work on a SERB-funded Biological evaluation of sugar-drug conjugate in the Laboratory of Medicinal Chemistry and Cell Biology [PI: Dr. Malay Patra, Medicinal Chemistry LabI Department of Chemical Sciences, TIFR Mumbai. Candidates should have national-level entrance qualifications, such as NET/GATE etc. Institute accommodation will not be available however HRA will be provided as per DST/SERB rule.

Nature & Period of Post – Temporary appointment for a period of one year

with a possibility of extension for two more years. The extension is subject to satisfactory performance.

Essential Qualifications

  • M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Biology, Biochemistry, pharmacology, or Medicinal Chemistry with minimum 60% marks;
  • Qualified in a National level test such as NET, GATE, etc.

Desirable: Experiences commensurate with the job requirements are desirable.

Desirable prior experiences: Mammalian Cell culture, Western blot, Flowcytometry, and Confocal microscopy

Job Requirements:

The research project involves:

  1. Culturing mammalian cells for experiments.
  2. Cellular uptake studies.
  3. Cytotoxicity studies.
  4. Mechanism of action using Western blot analysis, flowcytometry, qPCR and confocal
    imaging.

Fellowship – As per DST/SERB rules: Rs.31000/- pm + HRA as admissible
