  1. Can you explain your experience and expertise in computational structural biology and data science? How have you applied this knowledge in your previous research or projects?
    • Answer: I have a strong background in computational structural biology and data science. During my Ph.D., I worked on analyzing protein structures and predicting their interactions using computational methods. I have also developed algorithms to analyze complex biological networks and extract meaningful information from them.
  2. Could you provide an example of a bioinformatics software or algorithm that you have developed or used in your research? How did it contribute to your understanding of biological networks?
    • Answer: One example is the software I developed for predicting protein-protein interactions based on structural information. By analyzing the three-dimensional structures of proteins and their binding sites, the algorithm could accurately predict potential interaction partners. This helped in understanding the underlying molecular mechanisms and identifying key components of biological networks.
  3. How familiar are you with molecular interaction databases? Can you discuss your experience in creating, curating, or maintaining such databases?
    • Answer: I have extensive experience in working with molecular interaction databases. In my previous projects, I have curated and maintained databases of protein-protein interactions and other molecular interactions. This involved collecting data from various sources, organizing it, and ensuring its accuracy and accessibility for further analysis.
  4. Can you describe your programming skills in Python and/or C++? How have you utilized these programming languages in your research or software development?
    • Answer: I have strong programming skills in both Python and C++. In my research, I have used Python extensively for data analysis, algorithm implementation, and visualization of results. I have also developed bioinformatics software tools using Python and C++ to handle large datasets and optimize computational processes.
  5. How do you approach the prediction of biomolecular networks using computational methods? Can you discuss any specific challenges you have encountered and how you overcame them?
    • Answer: When predicting biomolecular networks, I follow a systematic approach that involves integrating various data sources, applying statistical and machine learning techniques, and considering structural information. One challenge I faced was dealing with incomplete or noisy data, which required implementing data filtering and validation strategies. I also encountered the challenge of scalability when dealing with large-scale networks, and I overcame it by optimizing algorithms and utilizing parallel computing techniques.
