Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Accommodation: Hostel accommodation will be provided subject to availability and will be governed by the rules and regulations of the Institute prevailing at the time of joining of the candidate.

- Selected candidate will get a chance to apply for PhD degree at BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus (Rules of PhD program for BITS Pilani are applicable)
Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Post Graduate in Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following:-
- Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests- CSIR –UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
- The Selection process through National level examinations conducted by central Government departments and their agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
Fellowship Amount (Rs.): 31000/-+8% HRA (INR)

I am genuinely passionate about computational biology and bioinformatics, and I firmly believe that this project will provide a significant contribution to the field. To ensure my long-term commitment, I will maintain a disciplined work ethic, adhere to project timelines, and regularly communicate progress with the Principal Investigator. Additionally, I am open to continuous learning and skill development, which will enable me to address any challenges that may arise during the project duration.
3.Can you describe any prior research experience that involved working with large biological datasets, and how did you handle data analysis challenges? Answer: During my previous research projects, I encountered numerous large biological datasets that required sophisticated data analysis techniques. To handle such challenges, I utilized various bioinformatics tools and programming languages to process, clean, and analyze the data effectively. Moreover, I implemented statistical and machine learning approaches to extract meaningful insights from the datasets. Regular discussions with my research team and seeking guidance from experts in the field were also instrumental in overcoming specific data analysis hurdles.
4.How do you see yourself contributing to the research objectives of the “Builder” project and what potential impact do you envision from your contributions? Answer: As a Junior Research Fellow on the “Builder” project, I see myself playing a pivotal role in designing and developing computational models for analyzing biological systems. My expertise in computational biology and bioinformatics will enable me to process and interpret complex biological data, leading to valuable insights into biological processes. I envision my contributions to advance our understanding of specific biological phenomena, potentially uncovering novel targets for drug discovery or contributing to the development of personalized medicine approaches.
