Applications are invited from highly motivated and bright candidates for the following assignment on a time-bound research project undertaken in the Amity Institute of Neuropsychology & Neurosciences (AINN), Amity University, Noida.

Essential qualifications: 

• M.Sc. in any Branch of Life Sciences including Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Biophysics from a recognized University with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
• Candidates with qualified NET/GATE/CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR JRF and experience in Molecular Biology, Protein Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, and Machine Learning are encouraged to apply.

Here are five possible interview questions for the Junior Research Fellow position along with their answers:

1. Can you provide a brief overview of the research project “Identification of Key Regulator Genes of ALS/FTD Pathogenesis through Integrated Network Analysis approach”? What excites you about working on this project? Answer: The research project aims to identify key regulator genes associated with ALS/FTD pathogenesis using an integrated network analysis approach. I am excited about this project as it offers an opportunity to contribute to the understanding of neurodegenerative diseases and potentially uncover novel therapeutic targets.

2. How does your educational background in Life Sciences, specifically in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Biophysics, align with the requirements of this Junior Research Fellow position? Answer: My M.Sc. in Biotechnology has provided me with a strong foundation in molecular biology techniques, while my experience in bioinformatics and biochemistry has honed my analytical skills. I believe these qualifications will be valuable in conducting research and data analysis for the project.

3. Have you been involved in any research projects or publications related to Molecular Biology, Protein Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, or Machine Learning? If yes, could you share some insights about your contributions? Answer: Yes, during my academic journey, I actively participated in research projects focusing on molecular biology and bioinformatics. For instance, I worked on a project investigating gene expression patterns in neurodegenerative diseases. I also contributed to a publication that explored the application of machine learning algorithms in protein structure prediction.

4. The position mentions that candidates with qualified NET/GATE/CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR JRF are encouraged to apply. Could you elaborate on your eligibility and experience with any of these qualifying exams? Answer: I have qualified for the CSIR-JRF exam and secured a good rank in the same. 5. As a Junior Research Fellow, you will be working on a time-bound research project. How do you plan to manage your time efficiently to meet project deadlines and contribute effectively to the research objectives? Answer: To manage time efficiently, I will first break down the research objectives into smaller tasks with specific deadlines. I will regularly review my progress and adjust my approach if needed. Collaborating with other team members and seeking guidance from the principal investigator will also be crucial in ensuring timely completion of the project.
