Applications are invited for two Project Assistant positions on research grants funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (91/08/2020-TFGT/BMS) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (LSRB/01/15001/M/LSRB-380/SH&DD/2020) at the School of Bio Sciences and Technology, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore – 632 014.

Post I

Title of the Project: “Retargeting lentiviral integration into heterochromatin for safer gene therapy applications” (ICMR)

Job Title: Project Assistant

Qualification: M.Sc. (Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Biotechnology) or M.Tech. (Biotechnology)

Duration: 2 years

Stipend: Rs. 31,000 per month (consolidated)

Post II

Title of the Project: “Development of alginate-silver nanocomposite embedded with adipose-derived stem cells for the healing of deep burn wounds” (DRDO)

Job Title: Project Assistant

Qualification: B.Tech. (Biotechnology) or M.Sc. (Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Biotechnology)

Duration: 1 Year

Stipend: Rs. 15,520 per month (consolidated)

Principal Investigator: Dr. Everette Jacob Remington Nelson, Professor, Department of Integrative Biology, School of Bio-Sciences and Technology, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore – 632 014.

Candidates with previous experience in cloning, transformation, transfection, transduction, and flow cytometry would be preferred for the ICMR Project. Candidates with previous experience in cell culture, nanotechnology, and handling of small animals would be preferred for the DRDO Project.
