Listen!!! We are attaching some expected questions below for your interview preparation. Practice the same before you are going for the interview. Good luck!!!

  1. Question: Can you tell us about your educational background and how it relates to this research project?
Answer: I have completed my M.Sc. in Biotechnology, which has provided me with a strong foundation in various life science disciplines. During my studies, I focused on molecular biology and cell culture techniques, which are directly relevant to this research project. I have hands-on experience with gene expression analysis, cell culture, and molecular cloning, which will enable me to contribute effectively to the investigation of the role and underlying mechanism of ZIC3 in dopaminergic neural fate specification.
  2. Question: Have you worked on any research projects or conducted experiments during your academic career?
Answer: Yes, during my M.Sc., I had the opportunity to work on a research project that aimed to investigate the role of a specific transcription factor in neuronal development. I conducted experiments involving gene expression analysis using qPCR and performed cell culture experiments to study the differentiation of neural stem cells. This experience provided me with valuable insights into research methodologies and enhanced my understanding of molecular biology techniques.
  3. Question: How comfortable are you with cell culture and molecular biology techniques?
Answer: I am highly comfortable with cell culture and molecular biology techniques. During my M.Sc., I received extensive training in cell culture practices, including maintaining and propagating cell lines, handling primary cells, and conducting various assays such as immunofluorescence and cell viability assays. I am proficient in molecular biology techniques such as DNA and RNA extraction, PCR amplification, gel electrophoresis, and cloning. I am confident in my ability to apply these techniques effectively to address the research objectives of this project.
  4. Question: Why are you interested in studying the role and mechanism of ZIC3 in dopaminergic neural fate specification?
Answer: I have always been fascinated by the intricate processes that govern neural development and the formation of complex neural circuits. The role of transcription factors in these processes is crucial, and ZIC3 specifically caught my attention due to its involvement in dopaminergic neural fate specification. Dopaminergic neurons play a significant role in various neurological disorders, and understanding the underlying mechanisms of their development could lead to potential therapeutic strategies. Being part of this research project would provide me with an opportunity to contribute to this exciting field and make meaningful contributions to scientific knowledge.
  5. Question: How do you plan to contribute to this research project during your tenure as a Junior Research Fellow?
Answer: As a Junior Research Fellow, I am committed to contributing effectively to this research project. I will start by thoroughly studying the existing literature related to ZIC3 and dopaminergic neural fate specification to develop a strong theoretical foundation. I will then apply my expertise in cell culture and molecular biology techniques to perform experiments that investigate the role of ZIC3 in neuronal development. I will meticulously analyze the obtained data, interpret the results, and contribute to scientific publications and presentations. Additionally, I will actively collaborate with the research team and assist in the day-to-day management of the project, ensuring its smooth progress
