- 31,000/- + HRA for others who do not
Qualifications –
- Essential – Master’s Degree in Biochemistry or Biotechnology or Bachelor’s degree in Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent with 60% marks.
- Desirable experience if any – one(1) year experience in protein purification, performing the assay, handling cell lines or Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services

Duration – The engagement will be initially for a period of six months which may be extended or curtailed depending on the duration of the tenure of sponsored project / satisfactory performance or conduct of the appointee, as the case may be. The engagement will be purely on a temporary basis and shall not be CSIR/NCL appointment, temporary or otherwise and shall not entitle the appointee to any right/claim whatsoever, implicit or explicit, for his/her consideration against any CSIR-NCL post/fellowship.

The prescribed educational qualifications are a bare minimum and merely possessing of same will not entitle candidates to be called for an interview. Where the number of applications received in response to this Notice of engagement is large, it may not be convenient or possible to interview all the candidates. Based on the recommendation of the Screening Committee, the Project Leader may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interviews to reasonable limits after considering qualifications and experience over and above the minimum qualifications prescribed in the Notice. Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all their qualifications and experience in the relevant field on the date of advertisement.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear before the Selection Committee for an online interview. For online interview, URL link will be provided to shortlisted
the candidate later via email on or before 25/05/2023.
Interview will be conducted on 26/05/2023 from 09:30 AM online through a suitable
medium such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Cisco WebEx etc.
No interview call letter will certainly be issued separately.
No TA/DA will certainly be admissible for appearing for the interview. Chosen applicants will need to sign up with duty immediately upon receipt of the offer of engagement.

- Can you explain your experience and proficiency in protein purification techniques? Answer: Yes, I have hands-on experience in protein purification techniques. During my previous role, I successfully purified various proteins using chromatography methods such as affinity chromatography and gel filtration chromatography.
- Have you conducted assays using different cell lines? If so, please provide an example. Answer: Yes, I have experience in conducting assays using different cell lines. For instance, I have performed cell viability assays using MTT assay and cell proliferation assays using BrdU incorporation assay on various cell lines such as HeLa and CHO cells.
- How do you ensure the reliability and reproducibility of the data generated in your experiments? Answer: To ensure reliability and reproducibility, I follow standard protocols and maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, including all relevant parameters. I perform replicates and controls in my experiments and use appropriate statistical methods for data analysis.
- Can you discuss any challenges you have encountered during protein purification and how you addressed them? Answer: One challenge I faced during protein purification was low protein yield. To address this, I optimized the purification conditions by adjusting pH, salt concentration, and column parameters. Additionally, I performed multiple purification steps, including affinity chromatography and ion exchange chromatography, to improve the yield.
- How do you stay updated with the latest advancements and techniques in the field of biochemistry or biotechnology? Answer: I regularly attend scientific conferences and seminars to stay updated with the latest research findings and advancements. I also subscribe to reputable scientific journals and follow relevant online resources and scientific communities. Engaging in discussions with colleagues and collaborating on research projects also helps me stay informed.
