Elucidata’s mission is to power drug discovery by harnessing the power of structured and unstructured biomedical data. Our state-of-the-art technology transforms data so that it is analysis-ready. Biomedical data is vast but unstandardized, hence it remains underutilized. Or as we say available is not usable. Our platform, Polly, has been used to discover therapeutic assets with high odds of success in oncology, immunology, metabolic diseases and more.
We have worked with over 50 partners spanning industry and academia including premier biopharma companies like Pfizer, Eli Lilly, and Genentech; and leading academic labs at Stanford, Yale, MIT, and UCLA.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a bioinformatics strategy that aligns with the company’s overall objectives.
- Lead and manage a team of bioinformaticians, providing technical guidance and leadership.
- Develop and implement bioinformatics pipelines and workflows for analyzing large-scale genomic data, including whole-genome sequencing, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, proteomics, and microbiome.
- Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure data integration, sharing, and analysis across multiple projects.
- Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in bioinformatics and genomics research and apply this knowledge to improve our research programs.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality data and analyses.
- Communicate findings and results to both technical and non-technical audiences, including presenting at scientific conferences and publishing research papers.
Desired Profile:
- Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in bioinformatics, with a demonstrated track record of success in leading and managing bioinformatics projects and teams.
- Strong experience in developing and implementing bioinformatics pipelines and workflows for omics data analysis.
- Experience working with publicly available omics data.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python and R.
- Experience in machine learning and statistical analysis.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
