NOTIFICATION NO. 07/2023 FOR WALK -IN-INTERVIEW
CSIR–IICT is conducting Walk-in-Interview on 15.05.2023, 16.05.2023 & 18.05.2023 for the following positions under various sponsored projects purely on a temporary basis.
Candidates who fulfill the under-mentioned criteria of age, educational qualifications, experience etc., may appear for walk-in-interview with the duly filled application form (download the application form from CSIR-IICT Website) along with one set of attested relevant documents (certificates of all educational qualifications from the matric/10th onwards, Experience, DOB, latest Category/Caste Certificate etc) and appear for walk-in interview. Candidates are required to bring all

Essential Qualifications – MSc in Biochemistry / Microbiology/ life sciences.
Desirable Qualifications – Should possess good knowledge / 1-2 experience in neurobiology and receptor binding assays.
How to Apply –
- The above age limits are relaxable for candidates of statutory groups (SC/ST/OBC) and PWD candidates as per Govt. of India/ CSIR instructions on the subject.
- The candidates who have already served CSIR-IICT or any other lab/institute of CSIR as any Project Assistant / Project Fellow / JRF (in contract R&D projects) / SRF (in contract R&D projects) / Research Associate etc., for a total period of 5 years or more are not eligible for these engagements. The candidates who have served for a period less than 5 years will have a tenure up to the remaining period till the completion of 5 years.
- Candidates have to apply for only one position.
- CSIR-IICT reserves the right to cancel or withdraw the award in case of any discrepancy found, in the candidature of any selected candidate at any stage.
- The selection will be on the basis of an interview & skill test if applicable will be conducted for suitable posts.
- CSIR-IICT reserves the right not to fill up a particular position if it so desires. The number of vacancies indicated above may vary at the time of actual selection.
- The period of experience in a discipline/area of work, wherever prescribed, shall be counted after the date of acquiring the minimum prescribed educational qualifications for that position.
- The engagement will be purely on a temporary basis initially for a period of six months which may be extended or curtailed depending on the duration of the sponsored project / satisfactory performance or conduct of the fellow as the case may be and does not entitle him/her for any permanent position in CSIR/IICT.
- No TA/DA will be paid for the interview.
- No interim enquiry or correspondence will be entertained.
- The upper age limit shall be reckoned as on the date of the interview.
- Experience shall be counted after obtaining the minimum prescribed qualification.
- Candidates possessing essential qualifications in the required area/discipline only should apply, others are not eligible. Result awaited candidates are not eligible.

- For the Project Associate-II (Genomic surveillance for SARS-CoV-2): a. Can you explain your experience in COVID surveillance and its relevance to the project? Answer: I have been actively involved in COVID surveillance for the past 2 years, conducting molecular techniques and analyzing genomic data. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the virus and its variants, which will contribute to the genomic surveillance project.
- For the Scientific Administrative Assistant (Innovative Processes & Technologies for crop protection chemicals): a. How would you utilize your knowledge in Microbiology/Genetics/Biotechnology in assisting the scientific administrative tasks of the project? Answer: My bachelor’s degree in Microbiology has equipped me with a strong foundation in the subject, allowing me to comprehend scientific concepts and communicate effectively with researchers. This knowledge will be invaluable in providing administrative support and understanding the project’s objectives.
- For the Project Associate-I (Innovative Processes & Technologies for crop protection chemicals): a. Can you discuss your research experience in Microbiology or related fields and its applicability to the project? Answer: I hold an MSc in Microbiology and have gained hands-on experience in research and development through my work in both industrial and academic institutions. This background has allowed me to contribute to scientific activities and services, making me well-suited for the project’s requirements.
- For the Project Associate-I (Innovative Processes & Technologies for crop protection chemicals): a. How would your knowledge in Biochemistry/Microbiology/life sciences contribute to your work in neurobiology and receptor binding assays? Answer: My strong foundation in Biochemistry and Microbiology, combined with my 1-2 years of experience, has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and techniques required for neurobiology and receptor binding assays. I am confident that my knowledge and experience will enable me to contribute effectively to the project.
