Hiring for Multiple positions in the One Health Mission PMU
About the One Health Mission PMU
India has many ongoing or planned programs to address several aspects of One Health within
each sector such human health sector, livestock sector, wildlife sector and others. To better integrate the efforts and create coherent, comprehensive programs to face the constant emerging and ongoing disease threats, the National One Health Mission with a cross-ministerial effort, will be set up. The soon to be launched National One Health Mission will be coordinated by Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Govt of India. The Mission will be supported by a project management unit hosted at C-Camp, Bengaluru.The PMU would work under the supervision of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser and actively support and facilitate the work-streams under One Health.
PMU Position Summary
This PMU will be a small team that will support all the activities of the One Health Mission. This position gives you a chance to contribute to a very important National endeavour that resonates with International Priorities on One Health. As part of the PMU team, you will work closely with the Govt. Depts/Ministries, State Governments, International organisations, and Private agencies. You will be expected to be flexible in taking up different responsibilities as per the commitments and meet the deadlines. Since this PMU will require extensive coordination of the many efforts underway in various Ministries, you should have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to solve problems with energy and influence without authority. It will be the responsibility of each team member to manage the health of the team.
As part of the PMU, the following positions are available.
Project Lead (1)
- Core knowledge and skills
- Project Management and leadership skills.
- Interagency coordination (Govt depts./Ministries, International organizations, Private companies etc.).
- Ability to understand basic technical aspects of the project.
- Experience of working with diverse stakeholders and deliver on stated goals of the project.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong execution, planning and organisational skills.
- Strong commitment to accuracy and professionalism
- Ability to work amid strict deadlines and on multiple projects, as required.
- Ability to be able to set priorities, plan and meet deadlines.
Roles and responsibilities
- The team lead of the One Health Mission PMU will be responsible for overseeing the team in executing the various tasks required for the regular functioning of the committees constituted under the One Health Mission.
- Report to the PSA’s office and ensure adherence to milestones of different activities under the Mission.
- Lead and coordinate all the activities with different stakeholders of the One Health Mission, under the guidance of the PSA’s Office.
- Ensure all project documentation is updated and conveyed to relevant stakeholders on time.
- Coordination and of the PMU team.
- Travel as and when required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Post-graduate degree in Science, engineering, life sciences, veterinary sciences, veterinary medicine, public health, ecology or equivalent in related field from a recognized institution/university.
- 7-8 years of work experience in areas such as research and development, Government policy formation and implementation (in health sciences, technology, lifesciences and allied sectors), technology development programs etc.
- Excellent communication, people and analytical skills.
Project Manager (Multiple)
- Core knowledge and skills
- Project Management including implementation and monitoring.
- Project delivery and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively, without support and with little supervision.
- Experience of working with diverse stakeholders like Government, private agencies, International agencies etc.
- Experience of preparing DPR’s, policy briefs, policy analysis, research reports and any other documents required for the project.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in teams and take ownership of the task at hand.
- Strong execution, planning and organisational skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Ministerial stakeholders for execution of the project.
- Overseeing and managing several activities under One Health Mission like state pilot activities, surveillance pilots etc. under the Mission.
- Ensure Adherence to deadlines for various activities.
- Provide knowledge support and preparation of the materials (documents, data etc.) required for deliberation in the committee meetings, in the priority areas identified under the mission.
- Conduct consultations/ focused group discussions etc. to gather expert opinion on initiatives of the mission as and when required.
- Perform other tasks from time to time assigned by the Team Lead, coordinate with other colleagues and undertake field visits as per requirement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Post-graduate degree in science, engineering, life sciences, veterinary sciences, veterinary medicine, public health, ecology or equivalent in a related field from a recognized institution/university.
- 3-6 years of work experience in areas such as research and development, technology development programs, Government policy formation etc.
- Excellent communication, people and analytical skills
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and qualification.

Answer: I have experience in preparing policy briefs, policy analysis, research reports, and other documents required for the project. I have conducted research and analyzed data to support evidence-based decision-making. My expertise in policy analysis and research has enabled me to develop effective strategies and policies to address complex problems in the healthcare sector.
