About the job
The candidate will be responsible for conducting and managing biodiversity surveys (especially floral diversity) at AERF’s various field locations. S/he will be responsible for designing research frameworks, preparing survey questionnaires, conducting biodiversity and social surveys, data analysis and compiling reports and documents, and writing concept notes and research proposals, S/he will work as a part of a team to achieve the organization’s objectives and goals.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and manage biodiversity and social surveys at AERF’s various field locations
- Design research frameworks and survey questionnaires
- Prepare concept notes and research proposals
- Compile reports and documents based on field observations and research findings
- Collect and analyze data using appropriate tools and techniques
- Work closely with other team members, stakeholders and partners to achieve organizational goals
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Requirements:
- A master’s degree in a relevant field (Botany, Wildlife and environmental science) with experience in conducting and managing biodiversity surveys.
- Experience with designing research frameworks, survey questionnaires, and research proposals.
- Proficient in using scientific data collection methodologies like Line transects, quadrates and Point counts.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with proficiency in using statistical software packages like R, SPSS, or STATA.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present research findings and reports to a range of audiences.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player, with a willingness to travel to different project locations as required.
- Experience in conducting research on conservation and development issues in India will be an added advantage.
Location: The candidate will travel to different project locations like Ratnagiri and Chhattisgarh.
