Job Profile*

For SRF: The candidate will be involved in the process kinetics, optimization & mass balance for the ethanol production process. He/She will be involved in the preparation of scientific reports, research papers, progress reports and presentations.

For JRF: The candidate will be involved in pretreatment & saccharification & fermentation for ethanol production. He/She will be involved in the preparation of scientific reports, research papers, progress reports and presentations.

Qualification& Experience For SRF:

M.Sc. in Microbiology /Biotechnology/Biochemistry with minimum 60% mark & with GATE or NET qualification and preferably with four years of experience.
Or
M.Tech. in Biotechnology with a minimum 60% mark & with GATE or NET qualification and preferably with two years of experience.
Or
M.Tech. in Chem./Biochemical Engineering with a minimum of 60% mark & with GATE or NET qualification and preferably with two years of experience.
Or
Ph.D in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry

For JRF:

M.Sc. in Microbiology /Biotechnology/Biochemistry with a minimum of 60% mark & with GATE or NET qualification
Or
M.Tech. in Biotechnology with a minimum of 60% mark & with GATE or NET qualification
Or
B.Tech. in Biotechnology with a minimum of 60% mark & with GATE or NET qualification and preferably with two years of experience.

1. Can you describe your experience working with lignocellulosic biomass? Answer: I have worked on a research project where we used lignocellulosic biomass as the feedstock for producing ethanol. I have hands-on experience in pretreatment, saccharification, and fermentation of biomass to produce ethanol.
2. What is your experience with mass balance and process optimization in ethanol production? Answer: I have experience in analyzing and optimizing the process parameters, such as temperature, pH, substrate concentration, enzyme loading, and fermentation conditions, to maximize the ethanol yield and productivity. I have also performed mass balance calculations to estimate the amount of biomass and ethanol produced and losses incurred during the process.
3. How familiar are you with GATE and NET qualifications, and how do they relate to your academic and research background? Answer: I am aware that GATE and NET are national-level entrance exams for admission to postgraduate programs and for research fellowships, respectively. I have qualified for GATE/NET in my field of study, and it indicates my academic excellence and potential for research.
4. Can you describe your experience in writing scientific reports, research papers, and presentations? Answer: I have experience in writing scientific reports, research papers, and presentations based on my research work. I have published my research work in reputed peer-reviewed journals, and I have also presented my work in national and international conferences.
5. Can you discuss any relevant research experience you have related to ethanol production and its applications? Answer: I have worked on a research project where we produced ethanol from lignocellulosic biomass using a combination of pretreatment, saccharification, and fermentation techniques. We also explored the potential applications of the produced ethanol, such as its use as a biofuel, solvent, and chemical feedstock. I have hands-on experience in characterizing the produced ethanol using various analytical techniques, such as GC, HPLC, and FTIR.
