Job Title: Quality Assurance Executive

Location: Kempegowda International Airport

Key Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of food technology by providing support and solutions for issues pertaining to processes and products.
• Thorough knowledge of Food/Packaging Quality, Food Safety & hygiene, Quality & Food safety Audits, Product Development, and preparation of Operating Procedures/SOP’s)
• Involved in Product Development, Product and Process Improvement through implementation and adherence of defined SOP’s.
• Provide training and transfer of technology to production.
• Conduct sensory evaluation of products.
• Provide technical support to Production and Marketing team.
• Creating quality attribute sheets for signed off meals.

Key Requirements

• Degree in Food Science & Technology / Processes
• Minimum 5 years working experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Relevant experience in product development and quality control
• Able to work independently and as a team member.
• Possess good leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Possess good time management and project management skills.

1. What do you understand by Quality Assurance? Can you explain the role of a Quality Assurance Executive in a food manufacturing environment? Answer: Quality Assurance is the process of maintaining and improving the quality of products or services. The role of a Quality Assurance Executive in a food manufacturing environment is to ensure that the products are safe and comply with the regulations, standards and customer requirements. They are responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining quality systems, performing audits and inspections, and continuously improving the processes and products.
2. What experience do you have in food technology and quality control? Can you explain how you ensure the quality of the products? Answer: I have a degree in Food Science and Technology and more than 5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment. I have been involved in product development, process improvement, sensory evaluation, and quality control. To ensure the quality of the products, I follow a set of procedures and standards, such as HACCP, GMP, and ISO, and conduct regular inspections and testing. I also analyze the data and feedback from customers to identify areas of improvement.

For example, when we found a foreign object in a product, we stopped the production, conducted a thorough investigation, identified the source of the object, implemented corrective actions, and retrained the operators on the proper procedures.
4. How do you ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards? Can you give an example? Answer: To ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards, I keep up-to-date with the latest regulations and standards and conduct regular audits and inspections. I also communicate with the regulatory agencies and industry associations to clarify any doubts or issues. For example, when we wanted to export our products to a new country, we researched the regulatory requirements and obtained the necessary certifications and approvals. We also conducted a gap analysis of our quality system and implemented the necessary changes to meet the requirements.
5. How do you manage and prioritize your tasks and projects? Can you give an example? Answer: To manage and prioritize my tasks and projects, I use a project management software and a to-do list.
