Answer: I plan to contribute to this project by working on the identification and characterization of readers of histone modifications using the cutting-edge methods mentioned in the job description. I also aim to participate in the regular laboratory activities and maintain inventories related to the project. - How familiar are you with the techniques mentioned in the job description?
Answer: I am familiar with some of the techniques mentioned in the job description, such as ChIP, western blotting, and RNA sequencing. However, I am eager to learn new techniques such as Peptide affinity chromatography, Peptide array-based studies, and Cut and Run methods, which are mentioned in the job description. - How do you handle challenging experimental situations or results?
Answer: I handle challenging experimental situations or results by reviewing the literature and consulting with my colleagues and supervisor. I believe that discussing the issue with others and seeking their opinions can lead to a better understanding of the problem and potential solutions. - Can you give an example of a project you worked on that required critical thinking and problem-solving skills?
Answer: During my master’s degree, I worked on a project that involved identifying a novel signaling pathway involved in apoptosis in cancer cells. I encountered several challenges during the project, such as low protein yield and issues with the experimental design. To overcome these challenges, I reviewed the literature, consulted with my supervisor, and modified the experimental protocol. Ultimately, we were able to identify a novel protein involved in apoptosis, which was published in a peer-reviewed journal.
