E-mail, to the Investigator of the project, clearly indicating the name of the project along with their complete C.V., E-mail-ID, fax numbers, and telephone numbers. Only Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview and they are required to submit attested copies of all their certificates and a Demand Draft of Rs 100/- drawn on Canara Bank or Indian Bank payable at Delhi/New Delhi in favour of the Director, NII (SC/ST/PH and Women candidates are exempted from payment of fees) subject to submission of documentary proof), at the time of the interview.

General Terms & Conditions –

1. The candidates selected for the above posts will be on contract for one year or the duration of the project whichever is shorter, at a time.
2. No hostel/ housing facility will be provided.
3. Applicants may clearly mention the category they belong to i.e. SC/ST/OBC/PH and attach documentary proof of the same.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview if called for.
5. Apart from sending applications in the prescribed format given below, candidates should send complete Curriculum Vitae along with the names of three referees. Curriculum Vitae should contain details of the experimental expertise and a list of publications.
6. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

Educational Qualifications –

#Project Associate-I:

• M.Sc/M.Tech (Biotechnology/Biochemistry/or any branch of Life Sciences).
• Candidates should have qualified any National Level Eligibility Test such as (NET/GATE etc.) for applying the above position.

Job Description: Candidates with expertise in genomics sample preparation are desired.

Emoluments – The selected candidates will draw consolidated emoluments as per Institute Rules, depending upon qualifications & experience.

Rs. 31,000/- per month plus 24% HRA or Rs. 25,000/- per month plus 24% HRA who does not possess the NET qualification. (As per DST OM dated 10.07.2019)

#Project Associate-II: M.Sc/M.Tech in (Bioinformatics/Biotechnology/IT/Computational Sciences/ Biophysics) or Master’s Degree in any other stream of biological/physical/computational sciences. The Candidate must have at least two years of experience in bioinformatics analysis of next-generation sequencing data. Candidates should have qualified for any National Level Eligibility Test such as (NET/GATE etc.) for applying for the above position.

Job description: The candidate must have expertise in the analysis of next-generation sequencing data. Candidates with expertise in the programming languages R and/or Python will be preferred. The candidates must highlight their experience in programming and database development in their CVs.

Emoluments: The selected candidates will draw consolidated emoluments as per Institute Rules, depending upon qualifications & experience

Rs. 35,000/- per month plus 24% HRA or Rs. 28,000/- per month plus 24% HRA who does not possess the NET qualification. (As per DST OM dated 10.07.2019)

   Answer: I have hands-on experience in genomic DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, library preparation for Illumina sequencing, and quality control of sequencing data using various tools.

   Answer: I am interested in contributing to the national effort of genomic surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 in India. This project is a great opportunity to work in a prestigious institute like NII and gain knowledge and skills in the field of genomics.
3. How do you plan to utilize your programming skills in analyzing next-generation sequencing data?
   Answer: I plan to use programming languages like R and Python to analyze the sequencing data and generate meaningful results. I have prior experience in developing custom scripts and pipelines for data analysis and visualization.
4. How do you plan to ensure the quality of the sequencing data in this project?
   Answer: I plan to use various quality control metrics like read quality, read alignment, and base composition to ensure the quality of the sequencing data. I also plan to perform manual checks and troubleshoot any technical issues during the sequencing and analysis process.
5. How do you plan to collaborate with other team members in this project?
   Answer: I plan to communicate effectively with the other team members and share my findings and suggestions. I am open to feedback and suggestions from other team members and will work collaboratively to achieve the project goals.
