g a Asst. Manager-Innovation & Application & Development for their Meat Vertical. Based out of the Licious HQ in Bengaluru, you will have the unique opportunity to work with Food Industry leaders within the business unit to ensure, shape and influence Licious’ strategies and plans. This role offers a high level of cross-functional exposure and opportunity to work across the organization. In addition, you will accelerate the team’s external focus and perspective in pursuit of innovative products and solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for continuing the positive team culture, emphasizing employee development, empowerment and high performance.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Food Scientists and Food Technologists in support of the Value-Added, RTE/RTC Meat business vertical.
- Provide technical leadership and assess ongoing business-related Innovation and Application initiatives with OEM’s, Research Institutes and internal stakeholders.
- Extending meat expertise, sourcing and processing of RM’s, developing compounds for binding, flavouring, colouring, upscale from laboratory production of plant-based meat products to Industrial production, market future trend and technology research, product management and stakeholder management.
- Proof point testing of technical solutions in applications and hands-on development of new concepts and formulations.
- Partnering with other functional ingredient suppliers and exploring the interaction of ingredients and their impact on the final product. Including ingredients such as Proteins,
- Fibres, Starches, stabilisers, flavours. Provide, analyse, and execute cost-savings/ optimisation ideas and working closely with internal cross-functional team and external suppliers
- Working closely together with G2M, Regulatory and Quality teams to identify and grow new opportunities in the Plant-Based Meat segment across APAC and MEA Region.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Guide, Mentor and Coach a highly energised technical team and implement individual development plans for direct reports.
Qualifications
- To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully execute this role.
- Hands-on experience and knowledge in areas of Meat Processing, Meat-based RTE and RTC, Breaded Meats and Marinades, Protein Blends, Protein Functionalities and synergies between ingredient matrices is a must. Experience to packaging technologies
- Demonstrated leadership in all phases of product development and commercialisation process. Prior management experience with direct reports of various experience and skill levels
Education & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s in Food Science with 8 Years of experience in the Food Industry
OR
- A Master’s in Food Science with 6 Years of experience in the Food Industry.
Travel Requirements:
- Estimated at 20%. Travel is required to various Licious/ OEM locations, vendor meetings or other job-related functions.

Answer: My experience includes working with meat-based RTE and RTC products, developing protein blends, and understanding the synergies between different ingredient matrices. Answer: In my previous role, I led the development of a new line of meat-based marinades that increased sales by 25% within the first year of launch. I worked closely with the marketing team to identify a gap in the market and then led the development of the marinades, including formulation and packaging design. We also conducted consumer research to ensure the product met the needs of our target audience. - How do you stay updated on market trends and emerging technologies?
Answer: I stay updated on market trends and emerging technologies by attending industry conferences and trade shows, reading industry publications and research reports, and networking with colleagues in the industry. I also follow key industry thought leaders on social media to stay up to date on the latest developments. - How do you ensure employee development, empowerment, and high performance within your team?
Answer: I believe in providing my team with clear goals and expectations and then empowering them to achieve those goals. I work with each team member to develop individual development plans that align with their career aspirations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to help them achieve their goals.
