Norex is now foraying into the field of valued added flavoring ingredients, specifically in the field of spray dried peppermint, spearmint and other related products, with ambitious plans to further expand and become a reputed partner to the food, flavour, oral care and pharmaceutical industries.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:-
- Responsible for conducting sensory analysis to evaluate the aroma, taste, texture, and appearance of flavours and food products.
- Research on new application technologies so as to modify or improve on existing processes.
- Making various food applications for the evaluation of flavours.
- Provide technical support for customers’ request on application issue
- Conduct product trials to ensure that the flavours developed in the creation lab meet customer needs, perform well during production, and adhere to quality standards.
- Maintaining detailed documentation of all formulations, procedures, and testing results.
- Collaboration cross-functionally within the organization to accomplish business-critical initiatives.
- Perform daily tasks and manage assigned projects.
- Providing technical support to customer and sales teams, to ensure that products meet customer needs and perform well during production.
- Contribute to discussions of research plans, and sensory results, making experimental observations and making connections to related, but separate technologies.
- Familiarity with taste and odour profiling skills of flavours products to describe it in flavour..
OTHER FACTORS (IF ANY):
- A degree in food technology, or a related field.
- Good sensory skills.
- Good knowledge of flavour-related products (ie: beverage, bakery, savoury, sweet, etc)
- Strong knowledge of flavour chemistry and sensory science.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Application-oriented approach.
- Good knowledge of new application technologies
- Willingness and ability to learn fast.
- Able to work independently.

Answer: Yes, I was tasked with improving the spray-drying process of peppermint and spearmint. Answer: I conduct product trials to test and evaluate the flavours’ performance during production. I also maintain detailed documentation of all formulations, procedures, and testing results, which allows me to troubleshoot any issues that arise during the production process.

Answer: Yes, I collaborated with the R&D and sales teams to develop a new line of savoury flavours. I provided technical support by conducting sensory analysis and creating various food applications for evaluation. By working together, we were able to successfully launch a new product line that met customer needs.

Answer: I attend industry conferences and seminars, read industry publications, and conduct my research to stay informed about the latest advancements in flavour chemistry and sensory science. I also collaborate with colleagues in the industry to share knowledge and expertise.
