Applications are now invited for a Research Associate to join the project working on the commercial single cell sequencing platforms, the primary goal is to optimise non-commercial methods of single cell sequencing that use standard molecular biology tools and reagents.
TIGS, founded in 2017, is a non-profit research institute that aspires to develop solutions to challenges in human health and agriculture. TIGS is a unique initiative to support applications of cutting-edge science and technology in genetics and genomics to solve societal problems in the country. The most significant challenges that impede the achievement of health equity and nutrition security for all of India’s population require systematic evidence-based scientific advancements and technological solutions. Research programs at TIGS are focused on three broad areas: Infectious Diseases, Rare Genetic Disorders, and Crop Improvement.

as Research Associate in a project: Developing a frugal and accessible method of single cell RNA sequencing for the Indian research and biomedical community.Name of the Post – Research Assistant (JC-14)

Duration – Initially for one year and extension based on performance review.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Research Associate (JC – 14): While we will work with commercial single cell sequencing platforms the primary goal is to optimise non-commercial methods of single cell sequencing that use standard molecular biology tools and reagents. Therefore, the project will involve extensive use of molecular biology methods and handling of RNA. It will involve working with tissues from invertebrates, vertebrates, and cell lines. It will involve FACS and NGS sequencing and downstream analyses.
Essential Qualifications/Requirements
- PhD

- Experience in molecular biology
- FACS
- Bioinformatics
