Applications are now invited for two Research Assistants/Associates in the project ‘Screening for novel mosquito attractants and repellents’ with Dr. Jay Prakash Shukla, Scientist, TIGS.
TIGS, founded in 2017, is a non-profit research institute that aspires to develop solutions to challenges in human health and agriculture. TIGS is a unique initiative to support applications of cutting-edge science and technology in genetics and genomics to solve societal problems in the country. The most significant challenges that impede the achievement of health equity and nutrition security for all of India’s population require systematic evidence-based scientific advancements and technological solutions. Research programs at TIGS are focused on three broad areas: Infectious Diseases, Rare Genetic Disorders, and Crop Improvement.
TIGS is a program-driven research institute with a focus on solving pressing societal challenges. We are seeking applications from enthusiastic candidates to join as Research Assistants (SRF grade) or Research Associates in a project: Screening for novel mosquito attractants and repellents.
Name of the Post – Research Assistant (JC-12)
Number of positions – 02
Duration – Initially for one year and extension based on performance review.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Research Assistant (JC – 12): The candidates are expected to be involved in mosquito handling and running mosquito behaviour assays.
Essential Qualifications/Requirements
- Master’s degree or fresh Ph.D. in any branch of biological science with relevant research experience.
- Experience with chemical biology, Chemical ecology, natural products, mosquito entomology and/or mosquito behaviour is a plus.
