Job Purpose: This position will use cutting-edge pathology image analysis and bioinformatics approaches to understand the mechanism of action (MoA) and identify novel tissue-based biomarkers using advanced IHC imaging of patient tumours and will collaborate with pathologists, biologists, and other bioinformaticians to apply their findings to target identification and patient selection questions for new cancer therapies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design algorithms under supervision in one or more digital pathology analysis software packages in the quantification of IHC staining expression, including tumour/stroma classification and cellular feature extraction.
- Document projects, algorithms, and results in detail with the ability to proofread and record results as per regulatory standards.
- Work collaboratively in project teams composed of pathologists, scientists, and image analysts.
Educational Qualification: Graduate degree in biological science / biomedical Engineerin
g/ computer science/ Bioinformatics, or related discipline with 1-2 Years of relevant experience in Pharma/ Biotech/ R&D.Technical/Functional Skills:
- Experience in one or more digital pathology analysis software packages; including HALO, Visiopharm, Definiens, Inform and/or Aperio Image Analysis.
- Excellent programming skills in one or more analytics packages such as R, Python and/or MATLAB.
Behavioural Skills:
A proactive team player.
- Ensure completion of experiments and generate accurate and reproducible data from experiments.
- Good oral and written communication and presentation skills to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
