Position: Research Associate (BCT)

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the position of Research Associate in the research project entitled “Development of advanced biofuels and bio lubricants from high lipid producing microalgal strain through HTL and Co-HTL process” sponsored by Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission, Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of Gujarat, sanctioned for a period of three years (2022-2025). The position is available in the Bio-conversion Technology Division. This post is purely temporary, initially for a period of 11 months, which may be extended till the project co-terminates.
Essential Qualifications and Experiences:
PhD in Biotechnology/Chemical engineering/Environmental engineering/Renewable energy or other allied branches. The candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and having consistently good academic records are also eligible for the position.
Desirable:
The candidate should have research expertise
in microalgae-based systems and relevant techniques for cultivation, characterisation, extraction and bio-production are essential. He/she should be able to work in a team along with researchers with diverse thoughts and should be able to perform the tasks independently within a stipulated time period.Application deadline: 30.11.2022

The position is available in the Bio-conversion Technology Division, SPRERI initially for a period of 11 months, which may be extended till project co-terminates.
Essential Qualifications and Experiences:
M.Tech in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or Masters degree in Chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Life sciences with NET/GATE/or any National level examination from CSIR/UGC/DBT/DST/ICAR
Desirable:
Sound knowledge of microbiology and biotechnology. Expertise in microalgae-based systems and relevant techniques for cultivation, characterisation, extraction and bio-production will be preferred.
