Project Title – Protein folding dynamics at the single-molecule level
Outline of the project –
- This project aims to design protein constructs by systematically varying parameters that contribute to the folding pathway and quantify the effects at the single-molecule level using a high-precision home-build Magnetic Tweezer. The selected candidate is expected to either focus on the Instrumentation or molecular Biology part initially depending upon interests and eventually explore the other aspect.

Emoluments –
- For JRF: INR 31000/ 31000/ 35000 + HRA (As per project norms)
- For PA: INR 25000 + HRA (As per project norms)
Essential qualifications/experience –
- The applicants should hold a 5 yr master’s degree in Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, or 4 yr-engineering degrees in any discipline. The candidate must have qualified GATE and or NET to be considered for JRF. Candidates with no GATE/NET may be considered for the post of Project Assistant.
- It is essential that the candidates have a strong interest in learning some of the state-of-the-art single molecule techniques we routinely perform in the lab using AFM and fluorescence microscopes.
