Upper Age Limit – Up to 35 years

Duration – The above post will be filled purely on a contract basis till 30.06.2022 (may be extended depending on the requirement of ICMR).

How to Apply –

The candidates should apply on the proforma attached as Annexure I along with a certificate of age, qualification, and experience, complete in all respects on or before 09.05.2022 (Monday) by 3:00 PM positively in COVID-I9 Testing Lab cum Depot, Near Blood Donation Centre, under ramp of Advance Trauma. Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh, India-160012. The application should be clearly labelled as “Application for the post of Research Scientist B”

Note

: It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that the applications reach timely in
the COVID-I9 Testing Lab cum Depot. Applications received after the due date & time shall
be summarily rejected. Department will not be responsible for any postal delay.

The candidates should visit the institute website i.e. wwwpgimer.edu.in for the eligibility list
and the date of interview as no separate intimation regarding the same will be sent.

Note –

1. The selection committee reserves the right to shortlist the candidates on the basis of a
   screening test if the number of candidates is more than 30. The top 5 candidates will
   be called for the interview in such a case’
2. Ph D degree will count as three years of experience
3. Age relaxation for women/OBC (non-creamy)/SC/ST will be given as per GoI rules’
4. The authority reserves the right to change/cancel the advertisement/selection process
   due to administrative issues’

Terms & Conditions –

1. The engagement of the individual in the post will be on a temporary basis till 30.06.2022
   (Maybe extended further based on the requirement of ICMR)’
2. The appointment can be terminated with one-month notice from either side without
   assigning any reason.
3. Since the post is purely temporary, the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under PGIMER, Chandigarh.
4. Benefits of provided funds, HRA, CCA, Leave Travel concession, Medical claim etc’ are
   not applicable.
5. The experience will be counted only after the completion of essential educational qualifications. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification does not guarantee selection for the written test/ interview call and/or selection.
6. Persons already in regular time scale service under any Government Department/
   Organisations are not eligible to apply.
7. The eligibility list and the date of the interview will be uploaded on PGI Website on or before 13.05.2022 (Friday).
8. Screening test/ interview will be held at PGIMER, Chandigarh and no TA/DA will be paid for attending the same. The date & time of the interview will be uploaded to PGIMER, Chandigarh website. No individual intimation will be given for the interview. Candidates are advised to check the institute website regularly.
9. The screening test/ interview will be held in person ONLY. The online mode of the interview will not be conducted.

Remunerations – Rs 48,000 + HRA (as applicable)

Essential Qualification – First Class Post Graduate degree in life sciences from a recognized University with 2 years of experience in related fields (Microbiology/ Virology/
Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Genetics)
OR
Second Class Postgraduate with PhD degree in relevant subjects from a recognized
University with one year of experience (Microbiology/ Virology/ Biotechnology/ Molecular
Biology/ Genetics).

Wherever the PG/ph.D is not awarded with the subjects mentioned above, the screening committee will decide whether the degree of the applicant will meet the requirement of the subjects mentioned in the advertisement.
