Name of the Project – “Molecular Biology Training Program for School and Undergraduate Students”

Project Code – (011)

Tenure of the appointment – Initially for a period of one year, extendable for a further
period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.

Age – Not more than 45 years as of the date of walk-in-interview.

Day, Date, Reporting Time, Venue of Walk-In-Interview – Friday, June 03, 2022, at 2.00 PM at Seminar Room No. 34, Second Floor, Main Building, IISER, Pune, Dr Homi Bhabha Road, Pune – 411008.

Candidates reporting after 02.30 PM will not be considered for the selection process.

At the time of Walk-in interviews, applicants need to bring –

1. Duly filled prescribed application form (available below advertisement link)
2. All the originals and one set of self-attested photocopies of –
   a. Certificate regarding date of birth.
   b. Mark sheets and certificates (starting from 10th onward) regarding educational qualifications
   c. All Certificate/s regarding experience/s as mentioned in the application form.
   d. One Photo Identity proof (Government issued)
3. One recent passport size colour photograph.

General Information/Details about the post –

1. The appointment is purely temporary and will terminate automatically without any notice or compensation on the termination of the project.
2. The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment/absorption in Funding Agency or in IISER Pune.
3. The appointment of the applicant will be governed by the terms and conditions of the funding agency particularly applicable to the said project.
4. The qualification prescribed should have been obtained from recognized Universities /
   Institutions.
5. The prescribed educational qualification is the bare minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for the selection process. Where the number of applications received in response to this advertisement is large, it may not be convenient or possible to carry out the selection process for all the candidates. Based on the recommendations of the Screening Committee, the Project Investigator may restrict the number of candidates to be called for the selection process to a reasonable limit after taking into consideration qualification and experience over and above the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all their qualifications and experience in the relevant field at the time of applying.
6. Age relaxation is commensurate with educational qualification/s and/or experience/s of
   the applicant may be considered for candidates having qualifications and experience
   higher than the advertised with the prior approval of the competent authority.
7. In case, a selected candidate does not join or resigns after joining the post, waitlisted
   candidate/s may be offered the position.
8. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview.
9. No interim enquiries/correspondence/communication of any sort will be entertained on the matter.
10. Canvassing in any form and/or bringing any influence, political, or otherwise, will be treated as a disqualification for the post applied for.

Note – Wearing a helmet while driving a two-wheeler inside IISER Pune Campus is
MANDATORY.

‘COVID-19: Important Instructions’

1. Candidates should maintain social distancing all the time.
2. Spitting is strictly prohibited.
3. Candidates should carry a hand sanitiser, water bottle and face mask for personal use.
   It is mandatory to wear a double face mask / disposable mask available at the venue
   covering the nose and mouth at all times.
4. The candidate should not share personal items with any other individual.
5. It is mandatory to undergo thermal scanning at the time of entering the Venue for the
   Interview.
6. Candidate should mandatorily submit self-declaration (given on the next page)

Job Requirement – Incumbent is expected to conduct Molecular Biology workshops for school and college students. This will involve both theory and hands-on experimentation.
Therefore the candidates must be fluent in English and have excellent theoretical as well as practical knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques like PCR, cloning, DNA / RNA extraction, protein-related work etc.

Minimum Educational Qualification – Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences or related areas.

Experience Minimum – 2 years of Post-doctoral Research Experience

Preference – Candidate having extensive research experience during Ph.D. and Post PhD in working with basic molecular biology techniques like PCR, cloning, DNA / RNA extraction, protein-related work etc. will be preferred

Consolidated emoluments – Rs. 44,000/- per month
