We are looking to hire a Senior R & D Associate / Assistant R&D Manager in our S&T Human Biology team based in Bangalore –

Job Purpose –

The S&T, Human Biology team is involved in generating insights and developing new technologies of relevance to the BPC business. Specifically, the thrust area for the Human Biology, Bangalore team is to elucidate Hyperpigmentation Biology and develop superior even skin technologies.

Role Definition –

Overall, the incumbent will focus on acquiring and performing the following responsibilities:

• The candidate is expected to have expertise in Cell Biology, Cell Culture, and Molecular Biology and preferably with prior experience in handling commercially procured 3D skin cultures.
• Must also be able to work in the laboratory to carry out “on the bench” experiments.
• Independently design, execute experiments and analyze and interpret data.
• Design, develop and validate new bioassays and contribute to Category projects as and when the need arises.
• Bring in new scientific advances with agility. Communicate scientific results through technical reports and presentations.
• Interact with external partner/contract research organization in executing studies, collating data, and presenting to stakeholders.

A specific area that the incumbent would be required to focus on is the exploration and building of an understanding of biological mechanisms contributing to skin glow through pre-clinical 2D and 3D skin models for the BPC S&T program. It will require that the person works extensively with 3P for capability build and liaise with the clinical team to verify these findings through human volunteer studies.

Skills and Competencies –

• Technical education: M.Sc./B. tech in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Life Sciences
• Minimum 5 years of research experience in Cell, Molecular Biology, cell culturing either through industrial or academic research
• A collaborative mindset to work with Global and Regional teams
• Pro-active and dynamic in response to challenges
• Willingness to embrace Digital ways of working (use of models, Digital tools)
• Effective communication skills
