Name of the Project – Advanced Epilepsy Research

Work place – C/o Prof. Ashutosh Kumar, Department of Chemistry, IIT-Bombay, Powai, Mumbai.

Duration – 1 Year, which may be extended based on the need of the project

Salary – Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and comparable to other premier institutions in the country.

Qualifications & Experience Required –

• Degrees – M. Sc. With first-class in Biochemistry, Biotechnology etc., with a valid NET/GATE or equivalent qualification.
• Research experiences – Not essential but candidates with work experience will have a preference.
• Those who don’t have NET/GATE or equivalent qualifications can also apply but will be
  considered for the ‘Project Associate’ position.

Job Description – The candidate will be doing a synthesis of small drug molecules and designed derivatives. The candidate will be over-expressing and purifying the cloned protein from E.coli. The candidate will be studying protein binding with the synthesized small molecules, using various biophysical techniques that may include NMR and X-ray crystallography.
