Indian Institute of Science (IISc), a leading institution for research and training in science and engineering, is starting a two-year Master of Science in Life Sciences Program in the August 2022 academic session. In this context, IISc invites applications for an Instructor position to help with administrative and managerial aspects of courses, interfacing with faculty co-ordinators for the smooth operation of lecture, laboratory and research modules of the Masters of Science Program.
The position is purely contractual, and the candidate will be hired on a renewable annual contract, subject to satisfactory performance, with a fixed salary based on experience, for 3 years. The salary will be fixed in the range of Rs. 52,000-5,000-77,000 per month (consolidated). The
salary will be fixed based on experience.Job Description –
The Instructor would be responsible for coordinating the course activities in consultation with the institute faculty coordinators, planning, stocking and maintaining the laboratories,
and teaching and conducting laboratory courses in consultation with the subject coordinators (as and when required). They may also need to assist in the conduct of tutorial classes, course material preparation (both print and electronic versions), and evaluation of students working with graduate teaching assistants (PhD students). They could work with faculty on the evolution of the laboratory/lecture curriculum.
Eligibility – Ph.D in Biological Sciences (Candidates with prior research/teaching experience at BSc/MSc level students will be preferred)
Age – Below 35 years as of the last date for receipt of applications. Relaxation in age is
applicable for the applicants from SC/ST/OBC and PH categories as per norms. Age can also be relaxed at the discretion of the Institute for the Candidates with experience and merit.

The selection of the candidates will be based on their application in the proper format,
educational/ experience and based on performance in an interview conducted at the Indian
Institute of Science, Bangalore. However, Institute reserves the right to conduct screening
