Applications are invited for one (01) temporary position as Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at ICAR-Directorate of Foot-and-Mouth Disease (DFMD), International Centre for FMD (ICFMD), Bhubaneswar, under DST-SERB funded Core Research Grant (CRG) project entitled “Generation and analyses of mRNA vaccine against foot-and-mouth disease (FMD)”.

Duration – The position is purely temporary on a contractual basis. 3 Years. The initial appointment will be for one year, extendable up to 3 years subject to satisfactory performance of the JRF.
Age Limit – 35 years for men and 40 years for women or as admissible as per the guidelines.
Location – The place of work is at International Centre for FMD (ICAR-DFMD), Arugul, Jatni, Khordha– 752050, Odisha.

The application received after the due date will not be entertained. After screening the applications, the shortlisted candidates will be intimated for an interview by return email for which all the candidates are required to provide their e-mail I.D and contact phone numbers positively. The interview will be held on as per the given schedule through virtual mode.
Original documents of the selected candidates will be verified at a later stage before
joining.
General Terms & Conditions –
- No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
- Candidates should also bring a no-objection certificate in case he/she is employed
elsewhere. - The Director, ICAR-DFMD, reserves the right to fill up or not to fill the vacancies
notified in this advertisement. - The appointment of JRF would be on a full-time basis and he/she would not be permitted to take up any other assignment during the period of engagement.
- Notwithstanding the duration of engagement, the Director of the Institute can terminate
the services of such staff at any time without assigning any reason by issuing one month’s notice. - At the end of the assignment, such staff will not have any right to claim any employment or engagement.
- The assignment will not bestow upon them any claim for regular employment at ICARDFMD or any other ICAR Institutes.

Emoluments – Rs 31,000/- per month +HRA (as per norms) for the first 2 years
Rs 35,000/- per month +HRA (as per norms) for the 3rd year.
Minimum essential qualifications –
Post Graduate Degree in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Virology/Molecular Biology/Life Sciences/Zoology OR Graduate/Post-Graduate Degree in Professional Course
(M.V.Sc./ M. Tech/M. Pharma. etc.) selected through a process described by
any one of the followings:
a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests (NET)-CSIRUGC NET including lectureship (Assistant professorship) and GATE
b. The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
Desirable – Working experiences in molecular biology techniques, and/or cell culture
techniques. Knowledge of computer applications (web-search, data compilation), bioinformatics analyses, report writing, manuscript preparation etc. and publications in journals of national and international repute.
