CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Lucknow, a unit of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), is a premier scientific organization involved in conducting high-quality research in different areas of biological and chemical sciences and extending technologies and services to the farmers and entrepreneurs using medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs). How to Apply –
- Eligible and interested candidates are required to fill out the application form ONLINE by accessing the website https://www.cimap.res.in.
- For the online application process please refer to ‘How to apply online’ instructions, ‘Fee Payment Procedure’ and ‘Application Form Replica’ available on the above-mentioned website.
- The application is to be submitted in five distinct steps, as below –
1. Portal Registration (online)
2. Apply for Post (online)
3. Fee Payment (online)
4. Final Submission of application (To press the ‘SUBMIT’ Button online)
5. Dispatch of Printout copy (Hard Copy) of online application along with all relevant documents by post. - The dates for all the stages of application are as follows:
1. Start date for Online Application: Monday, 11 April 2022; 10.00 Hrs. IST
2. Last date for Online application: Tuesday, 17 May 2022; 23:59 Hrs. IST
3. Last date for Receipt of printout copy of application along with all relevant documents at CIMAP: Tuesday, 31 May 2022; 17:30Hrs. IST - Candidates are required to pay the application fee of Rs.100/- only as per the ‘Fee Payment Procedure’ available on the website. The candidates belonging to SC/ST/ Women/ PWD/Abroad candidates and regular employees of CSIR are exempted from payment of the application fee.
- Successful online application is indicated by the page displayed after clicking Submit Button indicating the generated “Application Number”. Please note down the same carefully and preserve it. If you do not preserve it, you will not be able to Re-print the Application.
- The Printout of the application, generated after online submission, duly accompanied by self-attested copies of the requisite certificates/mark sheets, testimonials, date of birth, educational qualifications, experience, reprints of publications and community certificate, if any, addressed to the ″Administrative Officer, CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Post Office-CIMAP, Lucknow226015″ should reach this office by speed post/registered post on or before 31.05.2022. Candidates applying for more than one post must send the hard copy of each application separately along with enclosures indicating the Code No. of the post.
- In the case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentages based on the formula as per their university/Institute.
- The envelope containing the application should be superscribed “Application for the post of………………….(Postcode …………… Advt. No. ………………)″.
- Applications from employees of Government Departments will be considered only if forwarded through a proper channel, certified by the employer that the applicant, if selected will be relieved within one month of the receipt of the appointment orders and in which vigilance clearance should also be recorded. However, an advance copy of the application may be submitted before the closing date. Applications routed through the proper channel should reach CSIR-CIMAP, Lucknow at the earliest.
- Candidates should specifically note that the applications received after the closing date for any reason whatsoever (such as envelopes wrongly addressed, delivered elsewhere, postal delay etc.) will not be entertained by CIMAP, Lucknow.
- Incomplete applications (i.e. unsigned, without photograph and applicable testimonials etc.) will not be entertained and will be summarily rejected.
- Applications once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn & fees once paid will not be refunded on any count nor can they be held in reserve for any other recruitment or selection process.
- Mere submission of an online application without hardcopy (vice-versa) will not be considered.
Print out of the submitted filled-in online application form duly signed by the candidates along with the following documents must be sent by speed post/registered post –
a) Coloured photograph pasted on the form and signed across in full.
b) Self-attested photocopy of proof for Date of Birth certificate (Matriculation or equivalent certificate for age proof.)
c) Self-attested photocopies of educational qualification certificates and mark sheets.
d) Self-attested photocopy of caste certificate, EWS certificate, PWD certificate, Women seeking age relaxation/Ex-Serviceman/others if applicable.
e) Self-attested photocopies of experience certificates, if any.
f) No objection certificate (NOC)/Proper channel application, wherever applicable.
g) Self-attested copies/reprints of Publications/Research Papers/Patents etc. if any.
h) Any other applicable certificate.
Note: NO INTERIM ENQUIRY OR CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE ENTERTAINED.
For Post I

Essential Educational Qualification & Experience – M.Sc. (Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Life Science/Chemistry) followed by PhD thesis submitted in the area of plant phytochemistry/ metabolomics.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience – Working experience in the area of isolation, identification and characterization of secondary plant products using high-throughput approaches as evident from publications in SCI journals.
Job Specification – To work on the comprehensive analysis of metabolomes as well as
identification, characterization and purification of metabolites using modern approaches.
For Post II

Essential Educational Qualification & Experience – M.Sc (Botany/ Life Science/
Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/Chemistry) followed by PhD thesis submitted in the area of
bioprospection of secondary plant products on various diseases.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience – Working experience in the area of isolation of
secondary plant products and establishing their mode of action for improved health as evident from publications in SCI journals.
Job Specification – To work for the validation of various claims in traditional medicine
system using modern approaches.
For Post III

Essential Educational Qualification & Experience – Ph.D. (Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Life Science/Biological Science/Science) in the area of pathways and
enzymes associated with secondary plant product biosynthesis with two years of post-doctoral research experience in the relevant area.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience – Working experience in plant biochemistry/
metabolic pathways/ enzymology as evident from high quality and impact factor research
publications.
Job Specification – To work on regulatory aspects of metabolic pathways in medicinal and
aromatic plants.

Essential Educational Qualification & Experience – Ph.D. (Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Life Science/Biological Science/Science) in the area of recombinant
biotechnology and functional genomics with two years of post-doctoral research experience in the relevant area.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience – Working experience in the area of metabolic
pathways and their engineering through modulation of expression of genes through overexpression or genome-editing approaches as evident from research publications.
Job Specification – To work for pathway elucidation and engineering of secondary plant products through modern approaches including genome-editing.
