Eligible candidates are invited to attend WALK-IN-INTERVIEW on the following date for the post of “Junior Research Fellow (JRF)” sanctioned under the DST-SERB project entitled ‘‘Role of neddylation in presynaptic regulation of glutamate excitotoxicity during hypoxia”, under Dr Kalpana Barhwal, Department of Physiology, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar on 19th April 2022.
The essential qualifications, experience, consolidated salary and service tenure are as under –

Upper age limit – 28 years as of the date of the interview
Location of Post – AIIMS, Bhubaneswar
The duration of Post – Project duration is 3 years. The initial appointment will be on a contract basis for 1 year and based on performance, an extension will be granted for 1 year at a time, till the closure of the project.
Period of Appointment – 03 years or till PDC of the project whichever is earlier.

- These are tenure vacancies under the funded projects and are not employment on AIIMS
Bhubaneswar payroll. Employment will be automatically terminated upon
completion of the project and there is no liability for permanent employment on
AIIMS, Bhubaneswar or Principal Investigator. Also, the candidates have no right to
claim permanent employment based on this job. - AIIMS, BBSR deserves the right to terminate the fellowship with prior notice of 1
month if performance is not satisfactory. - Age Concession: Age relaxation is admissible in respect of SC/ST/OBC candidates,
Retrenched Government Employees, Departmental Candidates (including projects),
and Ex-servicemen in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central
Government from time to time. Age concession to the extent of service rendered in
other research projects will also be admissible for experienced and skilled persons. - Selected candidates with valid GATE score / NET- JRF* will be considered for
enrolment in PhD programme subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria. - Selected candidates have to undergo training at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending this Walk-in-Interview.
- All other terms and conditions will be regulated by the guidelines as issued by SERB
& AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

Date and Venue of the interview – 19th April 2022 at 10:00 AM, Room No 38, Department of Physiology, Ground Floor, Academic Block, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar
Proposed Salary. – Fellowship of Rs. 35,960 consolidated per month for 1st and 2nd year
(Rs. 40,600 per month for 3rd year) as per DST-SERB norms.
Education – Masters in Science (M.Sc.)
Essential Qualifications – M.Sc. in Life Sciences and allied subjects/Physiology/Bio-Medical Sciences/Zoology/Biochemistry with at least 55% of the aggregate marks in the qualifying examinations.
Desirable qualification – Valid GATE score / NET-JRF* (Eligibility criteria for admission to PhD programme)
Key Skills – Ability to carry out animal cell culture experiments, perform gel electrophoresis, western blot, ELISA, RT-PCR, immunocytochemistry, silencing experiments, biochemical measurements etc. Ability to communicate in English, Hindi and Oriya.
