Who Can Write CSIR NET 2022 Exam?- Qualifications required for CSIR NET Eligibility 2022

One of the following degrees are required to be possessed by CSIR NET candidates to be deemed eligible:

• MSc. or equivalent degree
• BS (4 years)
• Integrated BS-MS
• B.Pharma
• B.E./B.Tech.
• MBBS

Individuals having any of the above degrees are required to have obtained the following marks to fulfill the CSIR NET eligibility 2022:

• Minimum 55% marks if General (UR/EWS) category.
• Minimum 50% marks if SC/ST/PWD category.

There is an RA (Result awaited) category for those candidates who have obtained enrollment in an MSc. degree or have a 10+2+3 qualification as on the date of the Application form online submission closing date.

The condition applied here is that such a candidate who qualifies CSIR NET exam is expected to clear the qualifying degree with the minimum required marks within two years validity period before they can avail of the fellowship.

An attestation certificate is also required of such candidates with certification from the Head of Institute/Department from where the student has appeared/is appearing.

Students enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD or those who have passed BSc. (Hons) or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 55% marks (General UR/EWS category) or a minimum of 50% marks (SC/ST/PWD) also qualify for CSIR NET eligibility 2022.

Even if qualified, candidates with only Bachelor’s degree would only be eligible for the fellowship after they enroll/register themselves for a Ph.D. program/Integrated Ph.D. program within the 2-year validity period. Such candidates with only a BSc./equivalent degree are only eligible for the JRF and not for the lectureship/associate professor position.

Gazette Notification No. F. 5-1/2013 (CPP-II) by the UGC dated July 4th, 2014, specifies the application of Bachelor’s or Master’s degree as amended from time to time.

NET-qualified candidates must fulfill the UGC criteria to be eligible for the assistant professor position/lectureship.

Ph.D. degree-holders with a minimum of 50% marks in their Master’s (passed before 19th September 1992) can only apply for the assistant professor position/lectureship.

For the CSIR NET Life Science exam, the candidate must have an academic qualification only in life sciences/a related subject.

For the CSIR NET Chemical Science exam, the candidate is required to have M.Sc./B.Pharma/B.Tech/BS degree or an equivalent qualifying degree in the chemistry field.
