Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the recruitment of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) purely on a temporary basis for

the project entitled “Investigation on molecular crosstalk of inflammatory hub NFKB and NICD using zebrafish model” under DST – SERB to be operated at TNJFU-IFPGS, Chennai.

Tenure – Two year Or Co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier

Age Limit – The minimum age will be 21 years and the Maximum 45 years with relaxation as per rules

Place of posting – TNJFU Institute of Fisheries Post Graduate Studies, Chennai or at the project site as per necessities.

3. Candidates are required to send one copy of the application addressed to the “Dean (Basic Sciences), TNJFU – Institute of Fisheries Post Graduate Studies, OMR Campus, Vaniyanchavadi, Chennai 603103″, Tamil Nadu, attached with detailed Dio-data, affixed with recent passport size photograph and copies of self-attested certificates in support of age qualifications, experience, testimonials and other credentials within 8.04.2022. All applications received after the mentioned time limit will be summarily rejected. Eligible candidates will be informed through email.
4. Unless a candidate sends Certificate/Provisional Certificate in respect of Graduation & Post Graduation Qualification, his/her application will be summarily rejected.
5. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates.
6. Candidates who are already working l or in similar positions should produce a No objection certificate obtained from their employer/ supervisor at the time of the interview.
7. The selected candidate will be stationed at Chennai or at project sites as required from time to time and will have to conduct extensive fieldwork involving frequent travel, laboratory works and surveys of different sites for sample collection.
8. Selected Candidate(s) will be required to produce all original documents at the time of Interview/Joining.
9. The selected candidates shall have no right/claim for regular appointment at TNJFU-IFPGS at any point of any time.
10. In view of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Strict Social Distancing norms will be followed. No candidate will be allowed to enter the TNJFU-IFPGS campus without a mask.
11. The Dean’s decision will be final and binding on all aspects.

Remuneration – Rs. 31,000/- per month + HRA

Essential qualification – Postgraduate in Basic Sciences (M.Sc. / M. Tech. Biotechnology
Biochemistry) selected through a process described through any one of the following:

a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR UGC Net including lectureship (Assistant professorship) and GATE.
b. The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS,
DRDO, MHRD. ICAR. ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.,

Desirable qualities/ Experience –

• Candidates with strong knowledge of molecular pathways, hands-on experience in Western blot, qPCR techniques, bioassays, cell culture and handling of zebrafish embryo larvae will be preferred.
• Relevant research publications with good impact factors will be given preference.
• Necessary computer knowledge for recording and analyzing scientific research data, a statistical analysis such as MS Excel, etc. is required.
