Applications are invited for Department of Science and Technology (DST), Science and Heritage Research Initiative (SHRI)-scheme, funded Research Project entitled, “Conservation of Indigenous Traditional Knowledge of folk biosystematics and scientific validation of functional food, ethnopharmacological and physico chemical properties of wild edible tubers (Dioscorea spp.) of Kanni tribes of Agasthymalai Biosphere Reserve, Tamil Nadu”.

Name of the Post – Project Associate

Name of the Project – “Conservation of Indigenous Traditional Knowledge of folk biosystematics and scientific validation of functional food, ethnopharmacological and physico chemical properties of wild edible tubers (Dioscorea spp.) of Kanni tribes of Agasthymalai Biosphere Reserve, Tamil Nadu”.
Age limit* – Below 35 years
* 5 years’ relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Female candidates as per Government of India rules
Qualification –
- M.Sc., in Botany / Biotechnology with SET/CSIR-NET will be Preferred.
- (Candidates with experience in handling HPLC, molecular biology techniques and Plant taxonomy knowledge for plant identification will be preferred).

Qualification – B.Sc., Any Science Degree Preferably botany and Biotechnology.
Stipend – As per norms
Duration of the Project – 2 years (The position is purely temporary, with an initial appointment for one year, and extendable to one additional year based on performance).
