ICMR invites online applications, from Indian Citizens, up to 25th August 2021 till 5:30 PM to fill up the following post to be filled purely on a temporary basis under the project entitled “ICMR-AIIMS Computational Genomics Centre” under Head, Division of Biomedical Informatics (BMI), ICMR HQRS, New Delhi-110029.

The terms and conditions for the post are as follows:

Post I

Name of the Post: Project Scientist-II (Bioinformatics)

Number of positions: One

Age Limit: Not exceeding 40 years, age relaxation will be as per the Government of India/ICMR rules.

Post II

Name of the Post: Project Scientist-I (Bioinformatics)

Number of positions: One

Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years, age relaxation will be as per the Government of India/ICMR rules.

How to apply & The Terms and Conditions for the post are as follows

1. The post is to be filled up on a purely temporary basis and will be initially for a period of one year.
2. The appointment can be terminated with one month notice from either side without assigning any reason.
3. Since the post is purely temporary, the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under ICMR or continuation of his/her services in any other project.
4. Benefits of Provident fund, CCA, Leave Travel Concession, Medical claim etc. are not applicable.
5. No Age relaxation against the unreserved vacancies as per Govt. of India order No.36011/1/98/Estt (RES) dated 1/7/1998.
6. No TA/DA etc. will be given to attend the Interview or joining of post and the candidate should make his/her own arrangement for stay for the interview and join of the post.
7. Qualification and experience should be from a reputed organization.
8. The experience will be counted only after the completion of essential educational qualifications.
9. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification does not guarantee the interview call and selection.
10. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
11. Persons already in regular time scale service under any Government Department/ Organization are not eligible to apply.
12. Leave shall be as per the ICMR’s policy for project human resources.
13. Consolidated salary of post may be revised as per ICMR instructions.
14. PhD or MD degree in subjects relevant to the Indian Council of Medical Research shall be treated equivalent to three years of experience respectively. The selected candidates will work in the project mentioned above and on any other work that may be assigned by the Principal Investigator from time to time.

For Post I

Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 51,000/- plus HRA as per rules

Qualification:

1st class Master’s degree in Bioinformatics or related discipline from a recognised university with 4 years of experience.
OR
2nd Class M.Sc. + PhD in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology or related discipline from a recognised university with 4 years of experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Experience in handling and analysing Next-Generation Sequencing data
2. Experience in a scripting language (PERL/PYTHON etc.)
3. Experience in conceptualizing and executing collaborative/independent research projects.
4. Doctorate or M.Tech Degree in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology or relevant subject from a recognized University.
5. Additional Post Doctoral research/ 2 years teaching experience in Computer Science in recognized institute(s) after obtaining essential qualifications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Work on research project available with the Centre
2. Providing consultancy/assistance to medical research groups on using genomics tools and techniques for their research.
3. Increase awareness of the latest Genomics techniques through lectures, small workshops and other media such as emails, participating in medical society meetings, CMEs, blogs, notice boards etc.
4. Outreach Centre’s activities through advertisements at various forums.
5. Initiate collaborative research projects with medical researchers.
6. Help medical researchers in preparing service requested for availing services of the Centre.
7. Work on collaborative research projects initiated by the Exploratory Team.
8. Providing technical support to the Exploratory Team (if required).

NOTE: PhD in relevant subject shall be treated equivalent to three years of experience. Candidates with PhD or M. Tech degrees will be preferred.

For Post II

Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 48,000/- plus HRA as per rules

Qualification:

1st class M.Sc/ M.Tech in Bioinformatics or related discipline from a recognised university with 2-year experience in a related field.
OR
2nd Class M.Sc. + PhD in Bioinformatics or related discipline from a recognised university.
OR
B.Tech/B.E. (Bioinformatics) from a recognized university with 2 years of experience or equivalent degree from a recognized university.

Desirable Qualifications:
