National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG) Kalyani is an Institute of Government of India, Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Biotechnology. The Institute has actually created necessary physical infrastructure and also critical platform technologies to support research, translation and training in biomedical genomics.
Applications are welcomed for the position of Project Linked Persons for extramural projects to be executed by the National Institute of Biomedical Genomics, Kalyani. NIBMG welcomes qualified applicants for the position of Data Analyst to work on a project that seeks to study the Skin Microbiome.
Research Description: Cataloging the changes in bacterial, viral as well as fungal composition from normal skin microbiome to a diseased state using 16S rRNA gene sequencing as well as whole shotgun metagenome sequencing, metatranscriptomics in addition to highlighting the novel interplay between host genetic and metagenomic correlates in diseased individuals.

Essential Qualification:
- MSc./ MTech. In Bioinformatics or Computer Science from a recognized University.
- Two years of experience in genomic or metagenomic data analysis with proficiency in Linux commands, in-house script development.
Desirable Qualification:
Hands-on experience in
- DNA sequence data analysis FASTQ files, particularly on Human or Metagenomic samples using standard data analysis pipelines.
- Basic knowledge Of Perl/Python and also Linux.
- Proficiency in English and also excellent communication skills.
Nature of Work & Responsibilities:
Analysis of DNA, RNA sequence files from massively–parallel sequencing platforms, as well as preparing summaries and also reports of data analysis.
