Project Title: Genetic improvement of rice for yield, NUE, WUE, abiotic and biotic
stress tolerance through RNA Guided Genome Editing (CRISPRCas9/Cpfl)

How to Apply:

1. The Online/Walk-in-Interview shall be conducted strictly following COVID Guidelines
   released by MHA and local authorities from time to time.
2. The candidates must provide their option as mentioned in the application form, to
   choose between online/walk-in-mode of Interview. Currently, the mode of the interview
   has been decided as both via Online & Walk-in. However, in the realization of the current
   the situation of the rising number of cases due to the COVID-19 pandemic, interviews may be conducted via online mode only subject to the conditions around the date of the Interview and decision of the Competent Authority. In such an event, the information may be published on the Institute website regarding any modification in the mode of Interview. Thus, candidates are advised to keep checking the Institute website on a regular basis for any kind of further information regarding the Interview.
3. All Candidates must submit a self-attested scanned copy of the following documents
   to the e-mail address [email protected] on or before 28-06-2021 by 4:30 PM.
   Please mention “Application for the post of _________” in the subject body of the e-mail. The applications received after 28-06-2021 at 4:30 PM will not be considered for further process.
4. The documents mentioned below must be compiled together in a single pdf as strictly
   in the sequence mentioned below.

   Those candidates who fail to upload the documents that suffice the minimum
   eligibility criteria for the posts applied for, on or before the due date& time, their candidature is liable to be cancelled.
5. Only candidates having essential qualifications would be considered for the interview.
6. The number of posts as advertised may increase or decrease depending upon the
   requirement of the Institute and various undergoing/running projects having the same
   essential qualifications.
7. Incomplete applications without requisite documents in any form will be summarily
   rejected.
8. All the claims made in the application form needs to be attached with substantial
   documentary evidence else the claim will not be considered.
9. For claiming experience, a necessary experience certificate duly issued by competent
   the authority has to be enclosed with the application for consideration of the same.
10. Age Limit:
    (a) For RA-III – Upper age limit 40 years for men & 45 years for women (As per ICAR
    guidelines)
    (b) For SRF – Upper age limit 35 years for men & 40 years for women (As per ICAR
    guidelines)
    (c) Lower Age Limit is 21 years & Upper age limit is 45 years for the application to the post of YP (As per ICAR guidelines) Relaxation in age limit for OBC Non-Creamy layer/SC/ST/PH candidates shall be admissible as per GoI rules.
11. Depending upon the number of applications received, the process of shortlisting the
    candidates may be done. A list of shortlisted candidates, if applicable, will be uploaded
    to the website. If in case, the shortlisting is not conducted, all the complete
    applications that fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria for the posts applied for, received
    on or before the due date, shall only be considered for an interview. Candidates are
    therefore advised to keep a check on the website for updates regarding the vacancy.
12. For an online interview, the link will be sent to the e-mail ID of the shortlisted candidate, as mentioned in the application form.
13. For walk-in-interview, the candidate will be provided with a computer facility inside the
    campus along with the link.
14. All the candidates must be present at least 60 minutes before the reporting time of
    the interview to be acclimatized with the interview protocol. Institute will not be
    responsible for any internet/connectivity issues.
15. No TA/DA would be given for appearing in the interview.
16. The selected candidates will be required to produce original documents for verification
    at the time of joining.
17. The positions are purely temporary, on a contractual basis and initially offered for one year or till project duration, whichever is earlier. However, the positions can be
    terminated with one months’ notice owing to any change in circumstances. The person
    selected will have no right to claim employment or engagement in ICAR at the end of
    the contract period.
18. The candidates who prefer to attend the interview via walk-in mode must bring 04
    copies of CV along with original certificates and 01 sets of self-attested photocopies of
    each of the documents/certificates and one recent passport size photograph.
19. Concealing of facts/canvassing shall lead to disqualification of the candidature.
20. The Competent Authority/Director of the Institute reserves the right to accept or reject
    any or all the applications without assigning any reason thereof.
21. The decision of the Competent Authority/Director of the Institute will be final and
    binding in all aspects.
22. In case of any disputes, it will be resolved within the jurisdiction of the New Delhi Court
    only.
23. The tentative date of interview for the post of RA-III & SRF is 05-07-2021 and for the post of YP-II is 07-07-2021. Those who choose for walk-in-mode shall report at
    Room No-125, LBS Building, Pusa Campus, New Delhi – 110012 at 11.00 am.

The last date for submitting the completed applications by e-mail is 28-06-2021 by 4:30 PM.

For Post I

Emoluments (each month): 54,000 plus 24 percent HRA

Essential Qualifications: PhD Degree in Bioinformatics/Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Genetics/allied sciences.

Desirable Qualifications: 2-year research experience in the bioassay of enzymes/ bioinformatics data analysis/molecular biology techniques, as well as high throughput.

For Post II

Emoluments (each month): 31,000 plus 24 percent HRA

Essential Qualifications: Master degree in the pertinent subject (ideally in Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Allied Sciences/Agricultural Sciences with First division or 60% marks or equal overall grade point average along with NET) with 4 years/ 5 years of Bachelor’s Degree.

Candidates having Post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years. Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree should have NET qualifications and 2 years of research experience.

Desirable Qualifications: Two-year research experience in plant transformation/ molecular biology techniques/genomic data analysis as evidenced by published papers.
DNA/RNA sequencing, as well as transcriptome data analysis as evidenced from publication.
