Name of the Project: Conservation and Wise use of Five Wetlands in three Himalayan States to secure habitats of Birds Migrating within the Central Asian Flyway

No of vacancy: 05

Location of Placement: Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh.

Period: Originally for One year, can be extended based on performance.

Type of Engagement: Contractual basis

Job Description: Applicants will certainly have to help the Wetlands Programme team in implementing as well as coordinating field research work for the conservation of migratory birds. The nature of work is diverse and also spans across various states of India.

Emoluments: Rs. 31,000

Essential Qualification: Post Graduate (PG) Degree in Zoology, Life Science or Environmental Sciences with NET qualification or any other National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and also institutions
as DST, DBT, DAE, DCS, DRDO, NHRD, ICMR, TIT, IISc, IISER etc.


For Post II

Emoluments: Rs. 20,000

Essential Qualifications: Post Grad (PG) Degree in Zoology, Life Science or Environmental Sciences.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Sound understanding of ornithology and also wetland ecosystem.
  2. Solid scientific writing and also basic mapping as well as analytical skills.
  3. Able to work as a team, comply with methodologies and have the ability to give scientific inputs.
  4. Ready for extensive travelling across India for work.
  5. Physically and mentally fit to undertake strenuous field operate in harsh weather.
