The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and also Research (NIPER) has actually been created as a centre of excellence for higher education, r & d in pharmaceutical sciences and is the first Institute of its own kind in the country. The Institute has actually been declared as an Institute of National Importance by Government of India with an Act of Parliament. The Institute is a member of the Association of Indian Universities.
The Institute admits students for the M.S. (Pharm.), M.Pharm., M.Tech. (Pharm.), M.B.A. (Pharm.) and PhD programmes in its various disciplines of pharmaceutical sciences as well as management each year.
NIPER-SAS Nagar is welcoming applications for direct PhD admission for
applicants having their own fellowship from CSIR-UGC NET (NET-LS not eligible)/ DBT-JRF examination(‘ A’ category only)/ DST-INSPIRE Fellowships/ ICMR-JRF examination (those selected for working only in ICMR projects are not qualified) are eligible to apply. Admission of candidates having DST-INSPIRE fellowship shall stand terminated in case the candidate fails to obtain fellowship from DST. NIPER will not provide any type of fellowship to such applicants from its funds, nevertheless, the student can claim from the original financing agency which selected them for fellowship. Please note that valid proofs of clearing the fellowship exams are obligatory for appearing in the interview. The candidate should have a good academic background in respective discipline and also he/she ought to be self-motivated with an independent, target-oriented and systematic working style. A high degree of creativity and also flexibility along with excellent collaborative skills are desirable. No TA/DA or any other expenses will be paid for appearing in the interview.ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Candidate should have passed the qualifying degree with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or CGPA of 6.75 on a 10 point scale wherever grades are awarded or equivalent as determined by Board of Studies as well as Research of NIPER (Percentage of marks or CGPA so calculated will be based upon the standards fixed by the concerned University/ Institution or aggregate marks or CGPA scored by the candidate for all years of the qualifying degree, in case University/ Institution has not prescribed any type of standard for calculating such percentage or CGPA). The passing of GPAT/GATE/NET is an essential qualification.

PhD (Batch 2020)
Non hostellers will not be required to pay hostel seat rent and also electricity charges in each semester. On top of that, non hostellers will certainly not be required to pay hostel admission charges at the time of admission. But staying in hostel assists in making rapid progress in their research.

- Matriculation Certificate as a proof of age and correct name.
- Mark sheets of all the semesters’ years of qualifying degree.
- Original Migration Certification (Last University/ Institute Attended).
- GPAT/GATE/NET Card wherever applicable.
- Award letter (if any kind of) of NET-JRF of CSIR/UGC/DBT/ ICMR, DST etc.
- Caste certificate, if applicable.
- Certificate of disability, if applicable.
