Official notification for the PhD Programme Admission 2019-2020 at NIPGR has been announced. NIPGR – National Institute of Plant Genome Research is inviting eligible and interested candidates from a life sciences background to apply online for the PhD Programme Admission 2019-2020. National Institute of Plant Genome Research, is an Autonomous Research Institution, funded by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, and conducts basic and applied research in the frontier areas of plant biology. The Institute invites online applications from applicants that have completed or will be completing M.Sc. Or equivalent degree (by August 31, 2019) in Life Sciences and/or in related disciplines with minimum 55% marks [a relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50 percent or an equal relaxation of grade, will be permitted for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled along with other categories of applicants, or if you had obtained their Master’s degree before 19th September, 1991], and have cleared the CSIR-UGC NET exam/DBT-JRF (chosen through BET/BINC)/ICMR NET examination for JRF (with a Junior Research Fellowship valid at least up to December 31, 2019), together with DST INSPIRE Fellowship for pursuing full-time Ph.D. program, for conducting advanced research in the frontier regions of Plant Biology for example, Computational Biology, Genome Analysis and Molecular Mapping, Molecular Mechanism of Abiotic Stress Responses, Nutritional Genomics, Plant Development and Architecture, Plant Immunity, Transgenics such as Crop improvement, Molecular Breeding along with other emerging regions according to plant genomics. Reservations are according to statutory standards.
The Admission to the PhD program is through two-stage procedure consisting of Entrance Test and Interview/Viva-Voce. The qualified applicants that have secured the minimum qualifying marks at the entrance examination will be shortlisted for interview/viva-voce.

The selected candidates will be enrolled for Ph.D. program in academic affiliation with the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. NIPGR will provide hostel accommodation to selected candidates (subject to availability).
APPLICATION PROCEDURE (ONLINE ONLY)
Candidates must register first and then follow steps for filling Online Application Form. The application fee is 300/( 100/for SC/ST candidates provided relevant documentary evidence is enclosed with the Application Form).
The admission Form is to be filled and submitted ONLINE ONLY together with required documents uploaded at the specified format and online payment via SBI Collect. No hard copies will be accepted.

- Signature (less than 50 KB)
- Age Proof. (less than 100 KB)
- Relevant Educational Qualification (less than 100 KB)
- Category Certificate, in case SC/ST/OBC. (less than 100 KB)
- Fellowship Award Letter/Admit Card (less than 100 KB)
- Payment Confirmation Slip Fee receipts (less than 100 KB)
As soon as you’ve uploaded the document and click on the”UPLOAD DOCUMENTS” button you’ll get the Form Preview option. Save/Print your form for future reference.
NIPGR Won’t provide any travel expenditures to applicants appearing for Entrance Test and Interview/ Viva-Voce
