Multiple posts vacant @ ICAR-IARI, New Delhi | Salary: Up to Rs. 36000 per month
The journey of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), popularly known as Pusa Institute, began in 1905 at Pusa (Bihar) with the generous grant of 30,000 pounds from an American philanthropist, Mr. Henry Phipps. The institute was then known as Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) which functioned with five departments, namely Agriculture, Cattle Breeding, Chemistry, Economic Botany and Mycology. Bacteriology unit was added in 1907. The name of ARI was changed to Imperial Institute of Agricultural Research in 1911 and, in 1919 it was renamed as Imperial Agricultural Research Institute. Following a devastating earth quake on 15th January 1934, the institute was shifted to Delhi on 29th July 1936. Post independence, the institute has been renamed as Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI).
Currently, the Institute has 20 divisions 5 multi-disciplinary Centres situated in Delhi, 8 regional stations, 2 off-season nurseries, 3 All India coordinated research projects with headquarters at IARI and 10 national Centres functioning under the all India coordinated research projects. It has the sanctioned staff strength of 3540 comprising scientific, technical, administrative and supporting personnel.
The Head, Division of Plant Physiology, ICAR-IARI New Delhi intend
to recruit an outstanding personnel for following posts in the DBT funded project “Indo-UK centre for Improvement of nitrogen efficiency in wheat (INEW)” purely on contractual basis.The details of the posts are as follows:
Position 1
Name of the post: Research Associate-I
No. of posts: One
Eligibility:
Essential:
- First class Masters’ degree in Plant Physiology, Biotechnology, Botany, Agriculture with Physiology as one of the subjects and three years of research experience.
- Bachelors’ degree with four or five years or those with three years bachelors’ degree must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR-NET/SET or equivalent qualification conducted by UGCMHRD OR
- Post Graduate degree in relevant professional courses.
Desirable:
- Experience in field phenomics, growing plant in hydroponics, handling instruments for recording physiological traits photosynthesis, root system architecture, tissue N analysis (CHNS /Kjeldhal), micronutrient analysis, HPLC etc.
- Statistical packages and data interpretation, manuscript and report writing.
- Also should be able to supervise overall experiments and provide teaching assistance to PI.
Emoluments: Rs. 36,000 + 30% HRA per month
Age Limit: 40 years for Research Associate
Position 2
Name of the post: Junior Research Fellow
No. of posts: Two at Division of Plant Physiology
Eligibility:
Essential:
- First class Masters’ degree in Botany, Plant Physiology, Biotechnology or Agriculture with physiology as one of the subjects OR
- Life Science (Plant Science) with four or five years bachelors’ degree.
- Those with three years bachelors’ degree must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET/SET or equivalent qualification conducted by UGC-MHRD OR
- Post Graduate degree in relevant professional courses.
Desirable:
- Experience in working with field crops, handling instrument like IRGA, root imaging, tissue N analysis (CHNS or Kjeldhal), micronutrient analysis, etc.
- Data analysis and interpretation, report writing
- Fellows interested in registration in Ph.D. from any Government recognized University would be preferred.
Emoluments: Rs. 25,000 + 30% HRA per month for I & II year; and Rs. 28,000 + 30% HRA for 3rd year
Age Limit: 35 years
Name of the post: Junior Research Fellow
No. of posts: One at Division of Genetics
Eligibility:
Essential:
First class Masters’ degree in Botany, Plant Breeding, Genetics and Plant Breeding Biotechnology.
Those with three years bachelors’ degree must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR-NET/SET OR equivalent qualification conducted by UGCMHRD OR
Post Graduate degree in relevant professional courses.
Desirable:
Experience in molecular markers, micronutrient analysis, data analysis and
interpretation, report writing.
Fellow interested in registration in Ph.D. from any Government recognized University would be preferred
Emoluments: Rs. 25,000 + 30% HRA per month for I & II year; and Rs. 28,000 + 30% HRA for 3rd year
Age Limit: 35 years
Terms and Conditions:
- The post is purely temporary and will be filled on contractual basis till the termination of the project.
- The candidate shall not claim regular appointment at this institute, as the post is co- terminus with the
project. - No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview
- Only the candidates meeting essential qualification would be interviewed
- Concealing of facts of canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification or termination of such candidates
